I haven’t seen anything but YouTube clips in over a decade. Propaganda makes me physically ill. I’m allergic to indoctrination. I have a visceral reaction to brainwashing. It’s a superpower.Smitty-48 wrote: ↑ dissident is when you recognize that it's all propaganda, there's no useful information, so you don't need to check anymore

the constant bombardment with headlines, clickbait, and the like
more in depth philosophical discussions beyond the immediate moral panic, I still engage with that

Yes, cutting the cable and ignoring the propaganda machine is key.
Definitely a good call.
I'd add that if you want to deprive Google of your interests and browsing habits consider using the Brave Browser (if you want free crypto), or Dissenter Browser, and switching your search engine to Duck Duck Go. Search the web without being tracked. Deprive systems from some of the other information they use to identify you with a better browser.
Definitely a good call.

I've used brave, it's a love/hate relationship. And I do use duck duck go... but it doesn't seem to matter, the big tech companies can hunt you down even if you don't want them to.DBTrek wrote: ↑Tue Mar 16, 2021 7:31 amYes, cutting the cable and ignoring the propaganda machine is key.

Each individual roadblock doesn't matter, and can be circumvented. The Conservative wrote: ↑Tue Mar 16, 2021 7:32 amI've used brave, it's a love/hate relationship. And I do use duck duck go... but it doesn't seem to matter, the big tech companies can hunt you down even if you don't want them to.
The aggregate effect of multiple roadblocks slows your opponent considerably.
I love Brave, no hate.
It's more secure, and they've paid me about $15 to use it since I started in September.
Put it on my work computer too - for those extra pennies.

Re: Toolkit for the Modern Dissident
the hardest part of being a dissenter is accepting that you don't matter anymore
the masses are not going to see things your way anytime soon, no matter what you say or do
these moral panics eventually go so far up their own asses they dissipate on their own
but it's going to be awhile
meanwhile, we're not getting younger, so you just have to get on with the rest of life in the now

I matter a great deal - just perhaps not to you or lefties.
And I'm fine with that.
Yet history is replete with dissenters that have changed its course.
My risk tolerance, with a family, probably means I won't be one of them.
But someone will be, and they'll need a support network.

Re: Toolkit for the Modern Dissident
that's who my techniques are for
if one is young & single with no attachments nor assets to lose, they don't need a toolkit
I mean, when I was young & single, I ran buck wild, getting in fights with everyone including the cops

for the young however, what I note is that they don't even run buck wild
the paralysis by analysis actually causes their lives to stop
they don't have wives, they don't even have girlfriends
they aren't moving forward towards being parents & owning a home
they are just stuck in limbo, Prisoners of the Future
living in virtual reality on the internet at the exclusion of all else
