Re: Current US Military
We need to get Smitty turned on to the Sengoku period of Japan.
The Tenshō Iga War, in particular, would probably be right up his alley.

Re: Current US Military
if you don't like the Vietnam analogy, change Mod Key to Redcoats, or some other symmetrical overmatch

Are they?
Are you?
Not that there's anything wrong with that.

if you want to say Ninjitsu, be my guest
I don't usually invoke "Ninja" analogies in an American context, if I was talking to the Japanese, perhaps
the point of analogy is not to be obscure, quite the opposite

Re: Current US Military
It's not just "Ninja".
It's the independent mountain communities of the Iga resisting the dominant and undefeated Oda clan at the height of its power. It's about the "Demon Daimyo" of Japan, perhaps the best military strategist of the age, grappling to adapt to guerilla tactics.
But I won't bore you with the details.
Everything can be reduced to "Viet Cong" if you want.

I found the Vietnam analogy most accurate because the scale of technological overmatch in fighting the Mod KeyDBTrek wrote: ↑Mon Mar 15, 2021 10:37 amIt's not just "Ninja".

Indeed, in fact she wishes you well.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.
