Prove what case? You could have video of them entering a store, pointing a pistol at the shop owner, and stealing money or goods... And the DA will refuse to prosecute. In fact now being a homeless drug addict is officially a valid "excuse" for said behavior in Seattle.
If I were a cop in one of these leftist hellhole cities I wouldn't be even worrying about proving anything other than proving that when enough cops bail for better jobs in nicer places the city will become rampant with crime.

The article directly mentions putting ‘suspects’ of violent crime away for drug offenses. I’m not ok with that, and I don’t think the drug offenses warrant prison time.

Everyone is a "suspect" until they are convicted (or not) in a court based on the evidence. You don't "get someone for armed robbery" without a trial with evidence presented, and the ability to "prove" it beyond a reasonable doubt.
When a DA drops the charges despite the evidence based purely on an ideology that says "if they're a minority, or homeless, or an addict, they should get a pass" then the system will be biased.

It will indeed. And I’m all gotcha going the DA system, or some other measure. But I’m fine with legalizing drugs. And the argument that it would increase violent crime simply doesn’t hold water. If anything, it would cause an incredible drop in gang activity.
