I would not assume that.

The Burmese army is tight with the CCP. Burma is a neighbour of China with a 1.300 mile common border.
China don't like to have democratic neighbours. They count on Biden chickening out and quietly agreeing that Burma is in their sphere of influence.
It's like Hong Kong. CCP flexing and trying to push the envelope.
Taiwan is the big prize.

I don't believe that China are dyed in the wool Communists compared to Marxist-Leninist types. At least, they haven't been since Deng Xiaopeng introduced the idea of "Communism with Chinese Characteristics."
As time has gone on, they've transitioned more toward a Nationalist Chinese w/ autocratic trappings style of regime. They may use "communism" as a way to build alliances and gain influence within academia, but they are China First. Not Communist Internationale First.

Maybe this is a proxy battle between Globalists and China. The Globalists are supporting the protestors, while the Chinese would support the Burmese Army, then?
Typically the Chinese and Globalists are in bed with one another.

Unless the globalists have wakened up to how the CCP uses them to subvert their globalist agenda.

The heart of Burma lies in Mandalay. Rangoon is a trade port and colonial hub.
