Brett Weinstein was one of the professors that got ‘purged’ from evergreen college when the students started mocking the deans. Remember all that?Martin Hash wrote: ↑Fri Feb 12, 2021 6:07 amBret Weinstein podcasts are way too long. Both of those guys insist on the ability to predict the future. That is so fundamentally wrong that it makes everything else they say suspect. How did Bret Weinstein get famous: he has a self-acknowledged learning disability. Is it because he’s Jewish?SuburbanFarmer wrote: ↑Thu Feb 11, 2021 10:00 pmDark Horse Podcast #67 with Daniel Scmachtenberger.
One of the most mindblowing things I've heard in a long time. Features an honest-to-god coherent argument for the US 'going China' right now, and the police state. Put your thinking caps on.

p.s. They are both very self-aware but not wise because wisdom = knowledge X experience X self-awareness

Eric Weinsteins podcast is called The Portal. He hasn’t done an episode since December, but they’re absolutely brilliant.

There's a masturbatory aspect of long podcasts that I'm not attracted to. For example, the multi-hour one you linked (I listened at 2X speed) never said anything important nor came to any worthwhile conclusions. It was simply two inexperienced, narrowly-educated pseudo-intellectuals yammering at each other. Worse, they're both elitist in the "I know better than you" sense of the word.SuburbanFarmer wrote: ↑Fri Feb 12, 2021 8:41 amEric Weinsteins podcast is called The Portal. You do you brother. I got a lot from it. It’s an interesting train of thought, but I’ll agree they sound a little pretentious.Martin Hash wrote: ↑Fri Feb 12, 2021 9:04 amThere's a masturbatory aspect of long podcasts that I'm not attracted to. They were entertaining, not enough to hold my interest so long but noteworthy.

If your podcast/video/lecture is lasting longer than 5 minutes, you'd better be saying something I'm highly interested in hearing.Martin Hash wrote: ↑Fri Feb 12, 2021 9:50 amThey were entertaining, not enough to hold my interest so long but noteworthy.
Otherwise, only 24 hours in a day, and time is at a premium!

That is one of the podcasts that I subscribe to but not always download. There's a lot of them. I will listen to this episode and get back to you.SuburbanFarmer wrote: ↑Thu Feb 11, 2021 10:00 pmDark Horse Podcast #67 with Daniel Scmachtenberger.

Re: Other Podcasts
It was pretty good I guess. I remembered why I stopped listening to Bret. He gets guest that he agree with on almost everything and get them to confirm his position. They are often very clever at diagnosing the problems of our time but when it comes to solutions they become like some puerile pseudo-intellectual lefties with highfalutin theories about changing the world. People like him must stop trying to be some kind of social engineers and just get with the times. Try to predict what's coming instead because whether it will be you won't be able to influence it much.Hastur wrote: ↑Fri Feb 12, 2021 4:41 pmThat is one of the podcasts that I subscribe to but not always download.
