Ehhhh ... that theory kind of breaks down when you recognize the Christians, throughout history, have been among the poorest and most desperate of populations. Marxists obsess over wealth distribution because they want the real-world material value that the rich possess. But the Church isn't teaching "love your neighbor" and "feed the poor" because they want to fleece the impoverished masses searching for some hope and spiritual guidance. They're laying a moral foundation and value system that helps communities weather political and religious persecution. Marxism, on the other hand, acts directly opposite, and imposes political and religious persecution.Martin Hash wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 12:51 pmComparing Jesus to Stalin certainly is dramatic.
Like I said before: get ‘em during life or after-life for not being sufficiently egalitarian requires some hair-splitting to see the difference.
The argument strikes me as pretty close to "religion and science are the same because they both explain stuff".
Yet ... they're pretty much polar opposites.
