Instituting true totalitarian government isn’t an option for them. It can’t happen without a revolt or seizing and remaking of government. One cannot elect despotism into power.

There are a whole lot of steps between here and nazi/USSR/NK style rule. The best they can hope for is a deluded GB/Canada model that doesn’t attempt to actually control the means of production.

There will be political purges and plenty of idiocy, and eventually an economic collapse. Prior to that collapse though, it’s all just Weimar style ‘managing’.

After the Collapse, it’s open season. Nobody can predict what comes next, other than violence and stupidity.

I disagree that The Left is going to institute any form of communism or dictatorship in the near future. They’re floating an actual, for real totalitarian bill at the moment, to redefine everything as ‘domestic terrorism’. That’s not just The Left. That’s government, GOP included.

The issue is always government overreach and corruption.

The problem isn’t that Democrats have power, it’s that the ruling class has sown enough division to excuse itself new controls.

The fix to this is not electing GOP members. It’s actual, real pushback. And I am saying that that pushback hasn’t even begun yet. The pendulum will swing, and things will normalize or Collapse.
