in 2020, deaths from cold viruses, normally 50-80K, were less than 1% of that, and 2020 was supposed to be a big "cold death year" but, of course, that was before the Coof. The obvious reason death from colds is almost zero is because they're all being attributed to the Coof but, of course, the MSM is saying it's because of lockdowns. Jesus fucking Christ; I guess the lockdowns work 100% for regular colds & flus, just not on the Coof.

Goddamn it, I say this exact thing to Covidians and their eyes glaze over: "Obey"

I'll believe it once Jake Tapper says it.... :snooty:

It is ridiculous. My wife is an RN and she says it’s bad in the hospitals. Mostly old people and people with pre-existing conditions. Nurses are stretched thin but the number of people with COVID that have no business being in the hospital, most of them have “free” health care are to blame for that. Again if your are elderly or have pre-existing conditions then maybe you could take proper precautions....like stay at home. The economy should be open.
There is a time for good men to do bad things.

For fuck sake, 1984 is NOT an instruction manual!

Martin, just wondering, how many Americans if you had to guess have been killed because of SARS-2/Covid19 and not because of underlining health issues? Say the official narrative is 350K now (and i know they started lumping in Flu and Pneumonia deaths as Covid but those usually kill about 50K a year on average lets say).

But seriously tho, how long does Florida get to run the beta version of freedom until the rest of us get it?

Shouldn't their results be enough to tell fauci to fuck off?

BTW, Masks mandates were cited by malice as a possible spark towards civil conflict in the best discussion I have heard in a long while.

My aunt, whom I loved dearly, had MG and was not long for this world. She died when she caught COVID and they listed her death as COVID. That's my apocryphal data point but I've heard the same thing countless times. But whether people die is NOT the issue; the issue is LIBERTY. We are being FORCED to sacrifice our liberty for undoubtedly questionable motives. All of the reasoning is egalitarian; apparently no liberty-lovers exist in positions of power. Liberty should only be circumscribed after strict scrutiny and be rigorously reviewed thereafter.

If you look at preliminary data the amount of excess deaths is not too different from covid deaths. So for the most part these deaths are happening due to covid, but in most cases it is just fast-forwarding the deaths of people who were likely to die within the next 3 years. Once the pandemic is over I would expect we'll see fewer than expected deaths for a few years.

The actions taken to reduce the spread of covid will also reduce the spread of other colds and flus as well, and would probably be even more effective at it due to most humans already have some amount of built up immunity to them. Covid on the other hand we do not have any societal built up immunity to it, so it spread way more easily. The danger with this virus was never with how deadly it was, but with how quickly it spreads. In the grand scheme of things this is a rather weak pandemic. We would be much better off right now if we had been more open during the summer, and allowed it to spike in younger and healthier populations over the summer when it was weakest.

Right now it is somewhat worse than the flu, but I bet that is only because it is new. Once the younger generations get exposed to it, it will be at worst just another flu as their bodies are familiar with the virus, and new strains won't be so different that your body can't easily adapt.

My Spidey-sense has always told me it was just a scheme to beat Trump, as I said repeatedly on this forum since the beginning. TDS people don’t care about anything else.
