Keyboards.
I am getting so tired of the tactile keyboards that are "silent" They aren't, for those who actually care.
I am using some cherry silents now on a tactile keyboard and I am feeling like I needed to gain finger strength just to use these... I don't know why these seem so wanted by enthusiasts, they outright suck. I swear after working/typing on these keys for over 15 hours a day my hands need a break.
I am working on building one from scratch, I am ignoring the standard "Silent Red" conversation and I am moving towards the Kailh Speed Switch Copper, with "Lube" which means I will be manually taking apart the switches, lubing up 104 keys by hand and getting a virtually silent keystroke of about 1 to 1.3 instead of the classic 2 to 3 in distance.
Here is one example of what I am looking for.
This is what they sound like without lube.
I am also getting custom covers as well, at this point in time, I need something to help my writing, I can't keep using a keyboard that feels like it was made back in the 70's...

I have in the past. That is why I am going custom.
All in all, a good custom keyboard will cost me about $200.

I need to figure out why my 5 and 6 keys quit working on my laptop. Should I just order a replacement keyboard?

Depends on the keyboard type. Some you can pop off the keys and clean them properly. Others are membranes.Martin Hash wrote: ↑Thu Dec 31, 2020 6:00 pmVacuum it.TheReal_ND wrote: ↑Thu Dec 31, 2020 4:30 pmI need to figure out why my 5 and 6 keys quit working on my laptop. You can run it through the dishwasher. Just makes sure no soap and leave it alone overnight to dry at a minimum.

What model? I might be able to walk you through how to repair it. Or at least clean the keyboard.
Those keys are not fun to clean and you may need to clean the contacts to get it working again.
