Wait a minute ... you lowered the number to 10%?
I thought it was higher before.

In a general sense, anyone with an IQ under 100 are incompetent to compete in the modern world, but the bottom 10% are medically recognized as such.

You ever do the IQ test?Martin Hash wrote: ↑Thu Nov 19, 2020 11:55 amIn a general sense, anyone with an IQ under 100 are incompetent to compete in the modern world, but the bottom 10% are medically recognized as such.
Just curious what the IQ score for a guy holding 3 doctorates is.
I was tested in 2nd grade and told ... like ... 124 or something.
But I'd trust that as much as I'd trust Elizabeth Warren's ancestry (as in, I'm pulling a second hand source from a 2nd graders memory over three decades later).

Yes, I was measured "gifted." After 130, an IQ number is simply noise.DBTrek wrote: ↑Thu Nov 19, 2020 1:18 pmYou ever do the IQ test?Martin Hash wrote: ↑Thu Nov 19, 2020 11:55 amIn a general sense, anyone with an IQ under 100 are incompetent to compete in the modern world, but the bottom 10% are medically recognized as such.

I was also tested for entering the "gifted" program at school, and I got in. So I guess I'm over 130 IQ as well:

Fuck, I'm even smarter than I thought.

As for the test:
My manual dexterity is still really good; when I was a kid I’m pretty sure there wasn’t anybody who could turn the rivet & washer over faster than me.
Same with putting together the puzzles.
I recited back the longest series of numbers that the test offered, and was the first one to do it for my administrator.
On the questions, like “What country is Athens the capital?” Those could be prepped for, and I had zero prep, unlike some of the other kids. MIT accepted me without even an application but I was too much of a space cadet back then to make informed choices.
p.s. Come to think of it, the rivet turning was an aptitude test. Selecting next in a series was from the IQ test.
