If Election Goes To The House?
In the end, if SCOTUS is behind Trump, and invalidates the election, so that it goes to the House: Trump wins. Is this what Justice Thomas was inferring?

I've seen a lot on here about Justice Thomas, but do not know where it is coming from. Can you link me?Martin Hash wrote: ↑Tue Nov 10, 2020 5:00 pmIn the end, if SCOTUS is behind Trump, and invalidates the election, so that it goes to the House: Trump wins. As I was telling my wife; "The Thomas thing could be, and probably is, Fake News; but it may be a 4D chess move to let Trumpsters know the strategy?"TheOneX wrote: ↑Tue Nov 10, 2020 7:41 pmI've seen a lot on here about Justice Thomas, but do not know where it is coming from. If the election can't be decided by the deadline, there's a default presidential selection method in the House that's never been used, and I've never heard of before. I'm not sure how it works but Republicans win.TheOneX wrote: ↑Tue Nov 10, 2020 8:01 pmWell I'm still confused.Martin Hash wrote: ↑Tue Nov 10, 2020 7:54 pmAs I was telling my wife; "The Thomas thing could be, and probably is, Fake News; but it may be a 4D chess move to let Trumpsters know the strategy?"

Re: If Election Goes To The House?
In a contingent election, House members have to choose among the three people with the most electoral votes. Each state delegation gets one vote, and 26 votes are required to win. In the Senate, the choice is between the top two electoral vote-getters and each senator gets a vote, with 51 votes required to win.

Good Summary on this at Revolver
Basically, if it gets to SCOTUS, Trump holds all the cards

Another Fun Fact: the Media called Al Gore the President-elect for 30 days in 2000, until the courts ruled against him and declared Dubya the winner. The best part: two people involved in Bush V. Gore were none other than...
...new Supreme Court Justices Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett. Why do you think the Democrats tried so hard to keep them from being confirmed? John Roberts was also an involved in the Bush V. Gore litigation.
