I don't blame Christianity. I blame people not keeping an eye on our education system from keeping it from being corrupted.
Yes I agree. I also believe that if these scumbags grew up in a traditional family that spanked kids when they did wrong they wouldn’t turn out to be scumbags and we would not be dealing with this shit!
It be a lot less likely.

Hell my son is not unaccustomed to corporal punishment when he deserves it after being an asshole.
Same for my kids. They love me and my wife but they are also very respectful of our authority and people are always telling us that our kids a very well behaved.
There is a time for good men to do bad things.

For fuck sake, 1984 is NOT an instruction manual!

Keese Love has still not been arrested. No idea if he's even been questioned by Portland Police. This morning the Portland Police chief said they were looking into it.

The message is clear. There are people involved with BLM that are willing to kill you. The Police treat BLM with kid gloves. Act accordingly.

I have a perfect example of how the general public has no idea what is going on.

My wife avoids the news. What she knows she gets from people talking at work, from Facebook, and from the little pieces shes gets from me. I say little pieces because after about 2 minutes she tunes out. She has no interest in politics, though she does vote. I get it. I never cared one bit for politics until maybe 10 years ago. I keep an eye on things for the both of us.

I was telling her about the guy in Portland that got sucker kicked in the head. Showed her a couple videos. She always shrugs these off like it happened on Mars or something. Lately I've been a bit surprised at the lack of outrage or response from hearing and seeing stories like this. I think she feels that sort of thing will never happen to us, so it's not real. I'm worried because all it takes is unknowingly rolling up onto a protest where you never thought you would. All it takes is a few out of the crowd to have this violent attitude and you could be dead.

I'm not going to push it because I don't want this to turn into an issue between us. One last item, and the real reason I started this post. One of the comments in the Portland assault video mentioned Antifa. My wife asked what that was. I'm sure I've mentioned it, but she had no idea what Antifa is. There are a lot of people who have no idea what is going on in our country right now. To them all is fine other than dealing with COVID.

+1 My wife likes to be an ostrich too. But we've been married for 28 years and over time I've eased her into understanding that you have to pay attention to this stuff.................. You don't need to react, and it's better if you don't immediately, but you have to know what's going on.

Same with mine, and mine got done talking to a paleontologist about dinosaurs (and not a normal talk either, as in talking with a panel) about the dinos, the eras, the extinction events, and how it affected the world, etc... (at 5 years old, and yes he was able to keep up with the majority of them)

The paleontologist invited my son to their local museums and told me that if he is still into it 5 to 10 years down the road to tell them, and they would offer a chance at helping at a dig...

I couldn't be more proud...

I couldn't imagine those twats that went helter-skelter across this country so far this year would be offered anything like that.

It's difficult for older people who grew up with real news to accept that now ALL the news is fake. People don't want to accept that China got us.

If you didn't spend part of your life knowing just 3 networks its hard to understand how restricted news was in those days.

The MSM was far more professional than it is today, but their reputation was bullshit too. The entire, 'Walter Cronkite most trusted man in America' was a fabricated myth that started with a poll of a mere 500 people.

De-regulation of media in the 80s was huge.

It’s time to start killing all BLM and Antifa scumbags. It’s that simple folks because if we don’t they will over run this country and the world. Plain and simple!
I was telling a guy yesterday that during the Cold War, Communism controlled HALF THE WORLD. Conservatives today, even ones alive during the Cold War, don't seem to understand how insidious & corrupting egalitarian ideas are. I blame Christianity, but Plato gets some credit too.
The problem comes from Gnosticism, but that is a story for another day. Christianity never truly purged Gnosticism. It was incorporated to some extent as was Plato that has a lot of the same ideas. There is no dualism. Mind and body are parts of one whole thing. The Persians, Arabs and Romans had the right idea when they smoked out the Manichaeans.

The mistake the commies commits is that they think that by radicalizing the young they will get permanent followers. It doesn't work that way. Most people grow up and they abandon childish things. Not many of the hippies stayed hippie for long, no matter what Hollywood tries to convince us of with their archetypical portrait of the happy old constant hippie. That lifestyle only works for a very small set of artistic people.

Sooner or later everyone needs to shoulder responsibility and with that comes a new set of values. They don't need killing, they just need to be shown a better path. The new strategy from the left seems to be to try to keep people in constant adolescence. When you watch TV shows like Girls and High Maintenance you can see what it looks like. But it's not going to last. It's not stable.

There is going to be backlash that will rival the 80s. I was a child in the 70s and when the 80s hit it was like a wave of liberty washing over us. We were so fed up with socialism, environmentalism, collectivism and pacifism we would follow anyone who offered a way out, and we did. There was resistance from the left, off course, but when society shifts like that it's like an avalanche.

The "modernization" of the Smith-Mundt anti-propaganda act in 2012 was the final nail in the coffin for any honest media.

YouTube mutes video of Cannon Hinnant's mom talking about her son:

This whole story haunts me. Practically no news coverage, but if Jamal the crackhead decides to fight the police and dies, neverending coverage.
