Re: The Armory - Guns, Knives, and Axes
Welp, finally got sick of asking for help, and just took my ass to the shooting range.
Initial thoughts - no real ‘recoil’, from the 9mm, but the noise was completely unexpected. Granted, it was a tiny indoor affair, but the thump in my chest was more noticeable than any jolt in the hand.
I was nervous as hell, and that certainly affected my aim. Got a bit shaky I think. Practiced loading and safeing over and over, decocking etc.
Definitely could do the deed if required, but god I hope I never have to.

to the crazy gun owner family. We've been waiting for you.
Nothing wrong with that grouping first time out brother. Remember...
BRASS
Breathe slow and steady
Aim - good sight picture
Squeeze the trigger
Shoot
Next time out, try this.
Aim at the left shoulder. Fire three aimed shots, then right shoulder, etc.
It will give you a better feel for shot grouping, has nothing to do with trying to shoot someone in the shoulder

Not bad for a first-timer. You need to calm down, breathe. Don’t anticipate the noise, the feel, or the recoil, that causes you to flinch. It's going to happen, just let it.SuburbanFarmer wrote: ↑Sun Aug 09, 2020 1:06 pmWelp, finally got sick of asking for help, and just took my ass to the shooting range.

I know you like controlling everything, the gun is not one of those things when you pull the trigger.
Keep practicing, you'll get a grouping vs a blob soon enough.
If all goes well ill be going next week to the gun range To go for more training.
I finally got my grandfathers 30-06 from my mother’s claws.
Going to be shooting it, and a a 9mm waiting for me in NH. If the range stays open. (and fucking COVID rules and ranges)

Bruno, animator for C&Rsenal and who also works with Mark Novak has a channel with just his animations. I love these.

I've made one small hatchet and I'm about half way through a little larger one and doing it by hand is a tremendous amount of work. Knives are simple by comparison.

First time shooting a sig 9mm. 50 ft.
Really need to use one that isn't a gun range rental. But Not bad for not picking up a pistol in 20 years.
First shot was the far right. Calibrating my aim... After that figured it out.
5 shots.
