The mask some lady made down the street probably won't do too much, but a good mask will stop a lot. The size of the virus doesn't matter, it is the size of the water droplets that you expel when you breathe. The virus hitches a ride in those droplets, without those water droplets the virus dies very quickly. A good mask will prevent the majority of those droplets from escaping. What does get through will be smaller, the smaller droplets will carry less virus load. The smaller starting virus load gives your immune system a better chance of defending off the virus without making you sick.

While the virus is definitely being used to attack Trump in disingenuous ways, masks is not one of them. Masks is a legitimate grip against the President. The effects of masks is well known, there is a reason why everyone in a surgery room is wearing a mask. We shouldn't ignore that for partisan reasons.
