Re: GoG known as Jay Podcast Guest
I think of Vikings , pagans, misomar, and socialist when I think of Scandinavia. I think of " good schools" as well. I don't think any of the above is a correct or good characterization but it is what's in my head lol.
I think most and by most I mean let's say 80+ percent should have a religion and need religion. In are current zeitgeist unfortunately I think we have an unusually high percentage of anti natalist /nilhlistic folks as well as a very few egoist/will to power types.
We all use an interpretation,/hermanutic to look at the world around us, but I do not believe most people in the West use religion as the dominant lens to view their world or make most decisions.
I inherently feel uneasy and even pretty much disagree with labeling the way mass hysteria that has been going on as " religious " or the way of framing how people react politically especially lately as religious is probably inaccurate. And I don't think it's just semantics or superficial differences.
We are so far removed from authentic religious experiences that we attribute fervor or stridence with religion. Religion is belief in a non scientific materialist reality and the use of rituals. Ritual alone isn't religion. Just as spiritually alone isn't religion. Heydarlon hates the word " spiritually" but it's a thing and it's not ritual but it's belief . So in a bare bones sense religion is ritual + belief . But belief in God and trancedentals not just belief in non material or in black people .

Re: GoG known as Jay Podcast Guest
I'm planning on doing a podcast on the fall of the czar specifically. It will likely be recorded sometime later next week. I am also planning on doing a follow up to Jung/Archetypes and a different one focusing on Tolkien, symbols, language, and storytelling (think power of myth) .
I'll likely have a separate thread for just the Czar episode b/c we might do more than one episode. I'm getting an Estonian / Russian guest to come on mostly likely in another month. We would be focusing on Russian literature.
