I consider myself one of the more vocal supporters of The State and the benefits of order on this board, but I never gleefully anticipate authorities firing on my fellow countrymen, and I don't get upset or angry when authorities show restraint - or consider that restraint a "constitutional crisis."

As the wise King Solomon wrote in Proverbs VIII, verse 20, I lead the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgement.

We could benefit from some of that wisdom.

You’re analogy fails - Soviets enslaved everyone they could - actively took people’s rights - nothing in traditional American teachings says you have to live with that. Don’t conflate the concept of respecting the rights of those who do not seek to take yours away from the concept of defending yourself against those who actively seek to take your rights away to serve their own desires.
