I don't care about the political parties or our overlords for they care nothing of me. This isn't just some bad flu. If I'm wrong in two years I'll admit it . I defend myself and my health more than the guberment ever did or will. Onward .

You can’t both ignore numbers and also claim that you defend your health. No more than you could choose to walk a minefield instead of a park and make the same claim.

Say you protect our own health but live in a place where the Governor is sending COVID patients to nursing homes? You may as well lick the bunghole of a Chinese bat directly.

Regular flu killed 80K Americans in winter 2017 - which was supposedly a very high death count for the flu. More recent numbers I've googled seem to be in the 25K to 75K range. 97.1K Americans have been registered as having died from COVID-19, so far (looking at the list on RealClearPolitics). Spanish Flu, in 1918 alone, may have claimed as many as 675K US lives (US population at the time was 105 mil).

So, yeah, it's worse than the regular flu, but comparing it to the Spanish Flu is also hyperbole. Sure, you can speculate that it might mutate into something more lethal, but it's more likely that it will mutate into something less lethal. No biological advantage in killing one's host, after all.

Only hyperbole if at the end of March of 2021 we have much less than 300k dead . We won't .

Even 300K wouldn't be Spanish Flu levels. In 1918 the US population was 105 million, and up to 675K died from the Spanish Flu that year. Today your population is triple that, so if you were to reach Spanish Flu level death rates, a little over two million Americans would have to be dead from COVID-19. Your level of healthcare is also better than it was in 1918, even if it's being put under strain in some regions. Unless it collapses entirely, I doubt you'd get 2 mil. dead by March 2021. Unless you do, it's not Spanish Flu levels.

I found out tonight that my aunt died of Covid 19 yesterday. She was in hospital after falling and breaking her hip. Seems as if she caught the virus while she was in hospital.
