Why does COVID-19 has to be like something? Can't we assess it on its own characteristics?
It's pretty bad for those who gets a bad case. Sometimes lethal. It takes a lot of resources because we haven't quite figured out how to treat it yet.
Let's just try to flatten the curve and protect the weak.
because it's foundation is the fucking flu!
No it’s not. Wrong virus family.
https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/health/ ... vs-the-flu

Treat it like the FLU and you will survive...either way if you treat this like the flu (like I have been saying since day one) and 99% of us will make it out of here without issue. Those that get it unless you are old fuckers, or immunocompromised, then you need to take precautions just like when flu season comes around...

How hard is this to wrap around that supposedly massive brain of yours?

How often are people put on ventilators for flu treatment? I know healthy people who have died from COVID-19. It's not the flu, idiot. Make believe isn't helping here.

Read your own links, moron
While both the flu and COVID-19 may be transmitted in similar ways (see the Similarities section above), there is also a possible difference: COVID-19 might be spread through the airborne route, meaning that tiny droplets remaining in the air could cause disease in others even after the ill person is no longer near.
COVID-19: No vaccine is available at this time, though development and testing is in progress.

Flu: A vaccine is available and effective to prevent some of the most dangerous types or to reduce the severity of the flu.
Doctors and scientists are working to estimate the mortality rate of COVID-19, but at present, it is thought to be substantially higher than that of most strains of the flu.
And this is from an article you selected. There are many out there warning people not to think this is "just a flu, bro".

When has the flu caused hospitals to get overrun with flu patients? When have so many died from the flu in such a short time that ice trucks were needed to store the bodies?

Just like the flu, derp, derp, derp.

You just need to come to grips with the fact it’s deadly to a very small subset of the population - which does not warrant the measures we are taking.

Most people will arrive at this conclusion and hopefully put pressure on politicians.

You know healthy people personally? Or have heard of healthy people dying?

Did you even read the article I posted?

Why even waste my breath here if people are not going to read, I swear.

Round and round we go. Pointing out what makes this different from the flu is not saying all the measures being taken are needed. Have you read my posts in this thread? Every time there is some progress made in this thread we go back to these useless choice A/B where A is "OMGZ, shut everything down indefinitely!!!" and B is "Jeez, bro this is fake news. it's just the flu".

This.

No, you didn't. The only difference between this and the flu for the majority of the people is NOTHING! Most people who actually get COVID-19 won't even know they have it. Those that get it with symptoms show Flu-like symptoms. That is the difference for 90% of all Americans.

Those in the high risk-factor ie: elderly and immunocompromised

Just like when the flu comes around, they need to take extra precautions.

Are you seriously playing dumb just to show that you refuse to admit that you are wrong on more than one level?
