If you do catch it, and show symptoms, there's a 1.3% chance you'll die.
Death probability higher in the elderly and those with pre-existing conditions.

I mean, probably this. I tend to get a little ranty when I'm irritated. It's not anything you specifically said, and I'm sure your experiences in life informed your response to the COVID situation. I get kind of irritated when I see news that isn't as negative being buried under the typical "stay-at-home, wait on a vaccine, social distancing forever," claptrap I hear all day long from every source imaginable.GloryofGreece wrote: ↑Tue May 12, 2020 10:42 amNot a death threat. You compared me to a panic stricken person praying to an idol. Who started insulting whom? It was sincere on my part, partly b/c I think you're either posturing or have very little humility. I'm humble before something I do not fully comprehend. You seem to be boasting , fake or otherwise, I hope it doesn't rail you.Xenophon wrote: ↑Tue May 12, 2020 10:27 amSo it's a death sentence for a person without pre-existing conditions now? Interesting that you'd resort to passive-aggressive death threats, though. Very cool.GloryofGreece wrote: ↑Tue May 12, 2020 10:18 am
I hope when you get it , you don't suffer too much. May you never have the fate to not see the ones you love die absent your presence. Its a helluva thing. Its a horrible thing actually.
Honestly, I'm just hoping it's not as bad as certain media talking heads keep espousing because I feel an intense feeling of loss for the life my children will have should this be the hyper-mutating doomsday-bug that a lot of people are treating it like. I mean, I'm having to hear my two-year-old son pray about going to his papa and grandma's house every night before he goes to bed, knowing he's not going to be able to and he doesn't understand why. And then I hear jackoffs like Dr. Fauci getting up in front of the TV telling millions of people, "Stay inside. Ignore anything that isn't what I've told you. Ignore data to the contrary of what I'm telling you. And just listen to me and my approved 'experts.' " in the most smug way he can.
Yeah, I don't want to watch anyone I love die either, but given what I've seen about the virus and how it apparently is only this giant death dealer in cities and places with a high population density, I'm hedging my bets on this all being less dangerous. If I end up getting COVID and dying on a ventilator that blows my lungs out like a water balloon on an air compressor while my nurses TikTok dance in the hallway, then so be it. Huddling inside forever seems no better than death.
Sorry for blowing up at you.

Let's get something straight about these media companies especially TV, people staying at home benefits them immensely. They want you to stay home and consume their content. The political party they own benefits. They have every incentive to instill panic.Xenophon wrote: ↑Tue May 12, 2020 10:53 amI mean, probably this. I tend to get a little ranty when I'm irritated. Well you're wrong. This shit is literally not even the flu. It may have been a bio-weapon or accidental lab release but gosh darn it just won't work right.GloryofGreece wrote: ↑Tue May 12, 2020 10:03 amI escaped becoming a schizophrenic by the skin of my teeth during a drug-addled period in my early twenties only to get too online ten years later and became autistic insteadTheReal_ND wrote: ↑Tue May 12, 2020 9:43 amWhat's it like chugging koolaid?GloryofGreece wrote: ↑Tue May 12, 2020 9:40 amThis thing isn't less deadly than was once thought , its actually worse if anything. Of course politicians in power are going to want the public to think its not as deadly now since they are "opening up" and want businesses to continue so we don't nose dive this year. That doesn't mean they know how to treat this novel virus, or that there will ever be a vaccine. It doesn't mean wearing masks and working in close proximity to one another isn't going to lead to everyone working getting sick eventually. Yeah actually your very likely to get it if someone you work with has it no matter what ppe you have or don't. Trump has an interest right now to make it seem less deadly even though his schizo haphazard style of leadership was just saying we shouldn't open up until there has been 14 days in a row of declines in infection rates and hospitalizations.
The Feds should have clamped down hard in early March and not relented until late April. That would have stamped it out almost completely. They could keep everyone's lights on, keep the water on, give us the checks like they did anyways and then we could have went back to work. There are countries around the world that actually did that and now they essentially no knew cases. But they had a real quarantine not a "shutdown". And im not referring to China. Look at what even Hawaii has done and how successful they've been at stopping the spread. Why is that , I wonder. This thing will be here all year and next too. Governors will likely open up, shutdown, open up , shutdown etc. until we have a vaccine or it mutates to a less virulent strain.
Interesting podcast on what we know now. Hint: not much really

Guess we'll see 21 hours from now... I'll try and watch it just to see if it lives up to my assumptions.

I was actually referring to myself man. I don't do passive aggressive, especially on a forum. Not worth it.TheReal_ND wrote: ↑Tue May 12, 2020 1:14 pmOh btw I just noticed the back handed insults you levied at me.
