The majority of nurses are no less heroic than the majority of the troops sent to fight wars for oil.

Are we in agreement then that this sort of healthcare worker shaming is unfairly reflecting badly on what is, in fact, a heroic profession right now?Xenophon wrote: ↑Thu May 07, 2020 11:12 amYes. For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

I'll just take up the minority position of: Who the fuck cares what fun doctors and nurses get up to to blow off steam? If they choose to spend their break shooting a moronic video that'll amuse... only themselves, why the hell would you care? Unless they are actually using real corpses of someone to make a video, just let them do their thing.

I think it is the disregard for social distancing and PPE use which is getting people's goat rather than the blowing off of steam.
It does set a bad example from people who ought to know better.
It's the implication that they are any less heroic in the job they are doing which I object to.

As long as they wear their protective gear when around their patients...who cares?

Who cares how much doctors and nurses make right? That's their money. It shouldn't be halfed or thirded by some Socialist Scandi gov't tax system. I know you are in agreement with me Engels...er I mean Bjorn sorry.

I think that little doctor on the left of the video seems super hot, but you should still swipe left on crazy nurses (and especially doctors who do stupid shit like that).

a) Doctors and nurses are part of the wider community and therefore risk spreading the virus when they go to their homes or out shopping for essentials.
b) It sets a bad example to the freedumb protesters who will point out that healthcare workers aren't wearing masks or adhering to social distancing rules so why should they.

Their job isn't to "set examples". Their job is to treat their patients. And again, if they're wearing masks when interacting with patients, it's all good. If a nurse goes grocery shopping without wearing a face mask... not that she'd neccesarily even need one... and some hysterical bedwetter throws a tantrum and take a photo of her shopping without a face mask? Ignore that noise. People who desperately crave offense will always find something to be offended about.Montegriffo wrote: ↑Thu May 07, 2020 1:36 pma) Doctors and nurses are part of the wider community and therefore risk spreading the virus when they go to their homes or out shopping for essentials.
