Re: I don't like Trump
I don't want to see Trump die from the bug no matter how deliciously ironic that would be.
I am looking forward to the epic Twitter rants after his defeat in the November elections.
I will get much more pleasure from his failure than from his death.
I want him to live to a hundred so that he can watch Fox News turn against him and acurately describe his regime as the worst Presidency in living memory.
I want to see him replaced by a President with dementia so that he knows that the people considered even a senile old sex pest was a better choice than 4 more years of Trump.
I'm deranged like that...

Re: I don't like Trump
I suppose I have mixed feelings on it. Pence is already the shadow monarch, Trump just blathers on tv. Not sure anything would change really, but I will be voting third party, unless Tulsi takes the nom.Montegriffo wrote: ↑Thu May 07, 2020 10:14 amI don't want to see Trump die from the bug no matter how deliciously ironic that would be.

Trump at least developing covid, and hopefully surviving, would be enough to end this fucking farce before it is too late. Boris is not talking the “it’s just a flu, bro” after his stint in the ICU.

No, Boris is listening to his advisors and not prepared to talk about dates until the 5 conditions for a safe end to the shutdown have been met.Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Thu May 07, 2020 10:27 amTrump at least developing covid, and hopefully surviving, would be enough to end this fucking farce before it is too late. 1: The NHS has the capacity to provide critical care right across the UK.
2: A sustained and consistent fall in daily deaths from coronavirus.
3: The rate of infection has decreased to manageable levels across the board.
4: Operational challenges including testing and PPE are in hand, with supply able to meet future demand.
5: Confidence that any adjustments to the current measures will not risk a second peak of infections (that overwhelms the NHS)
The WHO recommends 6 conditions.
1. Disease transmission is under control
2. Health systems are able to "detect, test, isolate and treat every case and trace every contact"
3. Hot spot risks are minimized in vulnerable places, such as nursing homes
4. Schools, workplaces and other essential places have established preventive measures
5. The risk of importing new cases "can be managed"
6. Communities are fully educated, engaged and empowered to live under a new normal
Strangely, the condition of the economy is not mentioned in either list of recommendations.

Honestly, to do it you need to be able to mass produce and distribute so many test kits that you you are testing enough of your population regularly to capture most of the new cases and isolate them, and your contact tracing is up to par such that you are able to locate and test all the people they came into contact with.Montegriffo wrote: ↑Thu May 07, 2020 10:51 amNo, Boris is listening to his advisors and not prepared to talk about dates until the 5 conditions for a safe end to the shutdown have been met.Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Thu May 07, 2020 10:27 amTrump at least developing covid, and hopefully surviving, would be enough to end this fucking farce before it is too late. We have Google and Apple pretty close to getting the contact tracing thing down. We just don't have testing here and it doesn't seem like Trump wants testing. It seems as though he is terrified community testing will slow down the economy if so many people test positive and have to isolate, and he would rather everybody just get the bug so we reach herd immunity, not understanding the mathematics of why that is such a terrible idea.
Dealing with travelers would be tough for a lot of reasons. The world probably needs to shut down non-essential travel for at least until there is a treatment or vaccine. Testing isn't going to catch all infected, so you are playing a numbers game, and international travelers really make that difficult to contain.

A test scheme for a tracing app on mobile phones similar to the one which was so successful in South Korea was started this week on the Isle of Wight.Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Thu May 07, 2020 10:56 amHonestly, to do it you need to be able to mass produce and distribute so many test kits that you you are testing enough of your population regularly to capture most of the new cases and isolate them, and your contact tracing is up to par such that you are able to locate and test all the people they came into contact with.Montegriffo wrote: ↑Thu May 07, 2020 10:51 amNo, Boris is listening to his advisors and not prepared to talk about dates until the 5 conditions for a safe end to the shutdown have been met.Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Thu May 07, 2020 10:27 amTrump at least developing covid, and hopefully surviving, would be enough to end this fucking farce before it is too late. Apple and Google are putting together a way to know if your mobile devices were in contact. They can use that to do some decent contact tracing.Montegriffo wrote: ↑Thu May 07, 2020 11:06 amA test scheme for a tracing app on mobile phones similar to the one which was so successful in South Korea was started this week on the Isle of Wight.Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Thu May 07, 2020 10:56 amHonestly, to do it you need to be able to mass produce and distribute so many test kits that you you are testing enough of your population regularly to capture most of the new cases and isolate them, and your contact tracing is up to par such that you are able to locate and test all the people they came into contact with.Montegriffo wrote: ↑Thu May 07, 2020 10:51 am

Do you really want Biden for president? How does that even compute? Biden is a senile sexual predator. TDS is strong in this one.Montegriffo wrote: ↑Thu May 07, 2020 10:14 amI don't want to see Trump die from the bug no matter how deliciously ironic that would be.
