I am not sure you should accept the pronouncing of the virus being "marginally dangerous" from a clown who thinks it in any way intelligent to employ fallacies like "well, you are disabled so your argument is invalid".

In fact, it's extremely dangerous and the delusional thinking from conservatives right now is insane.

By “disabled” you mean diabetes or some other God awful condition where one’s background risk of death is already high?

Thow some numbers up - show covid 19 is worthy of eviscerating Constitution.

If you truly feel it is, perhaps you should move to a country where you feel safer. (Honestly). USA is “supposed” to seek max individual liberty - with all the dangers and freedoms that comes with it. If you don’t want to be exposed to risk, then that’s your choice, but you have no right to choose for me.

The irony of all this is that it actually confirms one of StA's old hobby horses, which is that being overweight and diabetic is an extremely dangerous condition.

People who spent their whole lives not giving a damn red cent about their health are dying. Quelle fucking suprise.
HAIL!

Her needs America so they won't just take his shit away like in some pussy non gun totting countries can happen.

Liars lie, and we all know StA.
/shrug

I hit him with a truth pill he didn’t want to swallow - the fact that he’s got his “income” set no matter what. I pointed out that he’s casting stones at people with hungry kids, bills due, and no income - a situation he never has to grapple with. I mentioned he may want to use a little empathy, and realize that not everybody is getting a government check to cover their needs, come hell or high water.

Stung his ass pretty good apparently, since he immediately retreated to “YOU’RE ATTACKING DISABLED VETS!!”, followed by an all caps FUCK YOU!

It was some real feminist type shit.

I haven't seen the comment in question, but if someone is giving you flak for being disabled, it's probably because you stand to lose the least by staying in indefinite quarantine, as you were doing a percentage of that anyway, so your life doesn't change that much and you don't have anyone to support other than yourself and whatever wench you've coaxed into your domicile.
Which is ad hominem fallacy. My status as being disabled does not in any way affect the validity of the argument I made. It was a bigoted attack on disabled people and an example of the kinds of fallacious thinking that is behind some very bad decisions.

People who cannot think rationally are not likely to make the best decisions about how to mitigate a pandemic.

The absolute ultimatums as well belie a childish mind that is thinking ideologically rather than rationally. For instance we have seen endless posts accusing people of wanting the "lockdown to go on forever" or how people "love the lockdowns". Nobody is saying that. To claim we have to choose between forever lockdown and accepting the 2.2 million fatalities is not rational and it's not a legitimate position to take.

To open our economy back up requires widespread community testing in order to catch enough new cases and isolate them to push the reproduction rate at or below 1.0 in conjunction with adequate masks and other protective measures. That's not some crazy assertion. It's just a math game of trying to get the r-naught below 1.0. We do not have community testing at all. We have a federal government doing the opposite of that -- actually seizing tests from state governments so that they cannot do such testing.

If you want the nation's economy reopened fully, then instead of launching bigoted attacks against disabled people you might want to direct your attention towards the federal government that has gone out of their way to keep those basic standards from being met.

No, DB. You made a bigoted comment about my being disabled and attempted to claim that my being on disability renders any argument I make invalid. That's fallacious and fucking ridiculous. Nobody should listen to an irrational loon such as yourself.

Awww. There, there, snowflake. If stating facts is “bigotry” you’re in for a rough ride. Your comfortable financial position Has stripped you of empathy for anyone not in the same situation. That’s a fact, not bigotry.

I’m not the one calling for citizens Who disagree with me to be sent to camps. That would be bigotry. That’s you, dude. So hang up those crocodile tears, princess. Ain’t nobody buying that shit.

Just looking at the deaths does not help you. LOTS of younger people are in the ICUs. Many of them still die, though not nearly as much as the elderly. However, the survivors are often permanently disabled. We have no treatment for this and if you end up in critical care for this, and if you survive, you are very likely to be permanently disabled.

Which is ironic since the people claiming the arguments made by disabled people are invalid are the ones clamoring to become permanently disabled.

No, you just fallaciously tried to claim my argument was invalid because I am disabled. As if that has any bearing on what I said. Whether or not somebody benefits or is unaffected by an argument does not invalidate the argument. This is usually the first fallacy taught to children so that poor reasoning skills don't cause them to make stupid decisions in life..

Never seen a grown man pander so hard for undeserved sympathy. The record is there. Everyone interested in scrolling back to take a look can see how hard you’re lying.

It’s kinda embarrassing. Must’ve really struck a nerve.
