But it’s the richest bestest city on earth and has high unemployment. I don’t think ‘manpower’ is the issue there.clubgop wrote: ↑Thu Apr 30, 2020 11:45 pmHa! Pretty fucking stupid ignoring mass transit as a disease vector. How may people died because they wouldn't shut down or sanitize mass transit ?

So if you take the movies Contagion, Idioacracy, and possibly Scrubs, combine them into one thing.. that's basically 2020 thus far.
I blame a lack of mathematics education, honestly. That fucking hit us pretty hard, obviously.

"It's just a flu, bro"
Is going to be one of those things that sticks with you for the rest of your lives. It's going to be hard to live that down.

You're right. There were less than ten thousand recorded deaths from the flu last season and we are at sixty thousand recorded deaths from covid, and covid has only infected a small fraction of the American population thus far. It's not the same thing at all.

I predict conservatives are going to get even more insane as this gets worse. They likely will start deliberately trying to expose other Americans by violating social distancing in various ways publicly. They will call it civil disobedience and when they get arrested they will proclaim their "freedoms" were violated.
I thought the liberals lost their shit for good in the aftermath of the Trump election, but this shit we see now is completely off the hook.

Wow, who knew that massive unemployment makes conservatives mad. It's almost like there is a correlation between having a job and voting patterns

Yeah, it's all the liberals fault. The virus is a hoax and the liberals decided to kill everybody's jobs, including their own, just to put you on unemployment. LOL
