What gibs? If they are both in the same household that won't make a ddifference. Household income is household income. And the insurance thing is a reason to get married not avoid it.
Depends on your state. For instance, I don’t have to cover her or her son on my insurance, the state does.
My point was that there’s no ‘benefit’ to the marriage contract, only massive downside. Better to work out an arrangement between interested parties and leave the state out of it.

Nice guy, single,dumb as crap, has the social skills of a 16 year old. No interoffice skills and will rattle off idiotic comments that he thinks of with no concern/indication that it completely inappropriate in the office (especially one where customers come in and are within ear shot of him). I've heard him ask customers what their financial situation is like and critize their money management (totally not our business). Believes everything MSM tells him without question and parrots every stat they say back to us. Last known girlfriend was a stripper who, according to him, was nuts. Basically a kid who was just out of HS and on his own. We put his age at around 22.
Mid-March we had an office birthday party for all March b-days, of which he was one. Our staff was all around chatting and someone piped up and asks him how old be was going to be.
He answers "34".
This fucker is 34 years old.
The party came to an immediate stop. You could have heard a pin drop as every head turned to look at him. We were stunned. This is a future leader in this or some other job.
