So is the MI Queen the most hated governor since the Civil War? When is the last time we had armed militias storm a state capital?

Very curious what the guardsman would have done - I’m sure many of them agree with the militia. And there’s slim to nill constitutional support for the Queen’s fiats...so guardsman firing on militia prob have no authority to do so.

I think she's actually trying to become the most hated. I just read that the legislature voted down to extend her disaster declaration, so in retaliation, she extends the lockdown order another month.

Surprised we haven't seen the people brake down her doors and drag her out into the public square. She's fucking nuts and on a major power trip.

You know how the market liberals are fallaciously arguing that covid is like the flu by concocting a dubious total infection estimate and then using that to calculate a super low IFR so that they then compare to influenza's CFR in a bogus apples-to-oranges fallacy?

There is another mistake apparently that is similar to that whereby we are comparing total influenza deaths that are estimates based on a lot of assumptions and a generous allowance for indirect deaths, etc. with overly strict counts of covid deaths.

A latest Scientific American essay breaks down the fallacy here:
The 25,000 to 69,000 numbers that Trump cited do not represent counted flu deaths per year; they are estimates that the CDC produces by multiplying the number of flu death counts reported by various coefficients produced through complicated algorithms. These coefficients are based on assumptions of how many cases, hospitalizations, and deaths they believe went unreported. In the last six flu seasons, the CDC’s reported number of actual confirmed flu deaths—that is, counting flu deaths the way we are currently counting deaths from the coronavirus—has ranged from 3,448 to 15,620, which far lower than the numbers commonly repeated by public officials and even public health experts.
To do this, we have to compare counted deaths to counted deaths, not counted deaths to wildly inflated statistical estimates. If we compare, for instance, the number of people who died in the United States from COVID-19 in the second full week of April to the number of people who died from influenza during the worst week of the past seven flu seasons (as reported to the CDC), we find that the novel coronavirus killed between 9.5 and 44 times more people than seasonal flu. In other words, the coronavirus is not anything like the flu: It is much, much worse.
https://blogs.scientificamerican.com/ob ... o-oranges/

The actual influenza death count is no more than 15k per year, and that's considered a bad year. The estimates were fake news put out by the CDC to encourage vaccination, similar to the lie about masks not being effective so that hospitals would not have to compete with consumers for needed PPE.

So here we have these market liberals wanting to "get America back to work" by creating a ridiculously high infection rate estimate for covid in order to concoct a bogus IFR that they then use in place of a CFR, and then they compare that bogus covid IFR with a CFR for influenza that is totally faked by increasing the fatalities we actually recorded by up to six times as much as reality.

Talk about fake news. Holy shit.

So, you're saying the CDC regularly lies to us.

I am saying you are lying to yourself at this point.

People are literally doing this. They are inflating the estimated covid infection rates by an order of magnitude, inflating the actual influenza deaths by up to six times, and then fallaciously comparing the bogus covid IFR with the bogus influenza CFR.

We have to stop doing this. Bad math is deadly right now.

To say nothing of the inflating of COVID deaths, or the financial incentives created to report more COVID deaths.

Maybe the inflation on both sides will even things out?

The covid deaths are drastically underestimated, actually.

That's the problem. You are believing wrong statistics because you are making an ideological decision rather than an intelligent decision. You are not really thinking about it at all.
