US marriage rates are troubling to say the least

Probably the world's oldest institution is in danger in the US

The U.S. marriage rate fell 6% in 2018, with 6.5 new unions formed for every 1,000 people, according to a report by the National Center for Health Statistics. That was the lowest rate since the federal government began keeping data in 1867, said Sally Curtin, a statistician at the center and lead author of the report.

“Millennials are in peak marriage years, their 20s and 30s, and it’s still dropping,” Ms. Curtin said. “This is historic.”

No one wants to marry when they still live with their parents.

If their demeanor in the workplace is how they are in relationships then this is not a surprise.

Many of those in their 20s expect everything, and they expect it immediately. Not because they feel they earned it, but because they just feel entitled to it. They don't want to do the dirty work, the hard stuff that is not glamorous. They want attention and to be in charge. Those are not good traits for long, healthy relationships.

Part of it probably also has to do with technology and how easy and comfortable it is to have "looser" relationships.

We can't all be mature enough to throw the economy in reverse doing donuts while the money printer catches fire to save our pensions because we are scared of a fucking flu

I do not believe marriage actually exists when women enter into it with optionality. Most women have the power to walk from the marriage while destroying the husband, taking his children, and even enslaving him with child support.

The fundamental premise of marriage is that you cannot do this. That society tells you to figure it out and at least deal with it until the kids become adults.

“Marriage” in America is whatever benefits women at the time. Then we get bamboozled by the moral argument to enter into marriage when the premise of marriage no longer exists.

Women that are worth your time are usually pretty upfront about that deal not being legit for you. Women who split checks, insist on separate accounts, etc. are what you should look for and most of them are unlikely to want marriage for both your sakes.

There’s no incentive to enter into a legal contract with tax penalties, just to say ‘we are married’. Who knew?
SJWs are a natural consequence of corporatism.

It is not really a contract either. A contract implies both parties uphold the commitments they agree to. Women do not have to uphold a damned thing.

There is no such thing as marriage in our society.

As long as children aren't involved no one has to uphold a damn thing.
