Re: Reopening America and the Cathedral's Counter-Boogaloo
I think they should not reopen schools after Labor Day and do "distance learning" for the 2020-2021 academic year...Schools are the petri dish vector of all diseases. Imagine the custodians, cafeteria, tech, drivers etc. that all get this thing once that reopens , if it does. I believe during the 1918-1920 pandemic the usa in general closed schools and huge concert style gatherings and that was about it. That doesn't mean that is how we should react now or if there is more we should do, but I think it shows even the old school toughness crowds did something.

Well, we don't actually agree on your "people who live in cities are stupid, because cities are stupid" deduction. If you want your tax dollars not to be spent on city-dwellers, though... you can always try and pitch the idea to your president, or even start a campaign for that on your own.C-Mag wrote: Tue Apr 21, 2020 11:04 amAgreedBjornP wrote: Tue Apr 21, 2020 11:01 am About comparing Fl. to NY:

I imagine that has some, little say in how easily a virus may spread.
If people are stupid enough to live on top of each other, I can't help them. Too stupid to live.
Blockade them, and let nature take its course. We've wasted too many resources on them already.

We should end all public schools. Go 100% online, with home tutoring.

My prediction: the republicans and corporate democrats will reopen the economy to save the wealth of their benefactors. The pandemic will rage again in the United States. The world will look at America and wonder what the fuck is wrong with us. No matter what the president or governors say, people will start sheltering in place on their own. Nobody is going to die for Burger King stock prices.
This money worship is ridiculous, but maybe it is time for the world to see where this kind of idolatry leads.

I'd be cool with that as long as I got a year severance to help adjust to the new reality.C-Mag wrote: Tue Apr 21, 2020 11:08 am We should end all public schools. Go 100% online, with home tutoring.

Maybe they're just tired of 600 unemployed Americans for every COVID-19 death.

Wyoming 3 deaths per million
New York 973 deaths per million
Clearly the people in Wyoming are smarter, healthier and better able adapt to change.
Cities like NY are centers of pollutants and toxins. It's no wonder they have such a high death toll.
I've been telling you people this for a decade.

How long does that take to play out though really? I can see states reopening, then closing for 3 weeks trying slow spread and pause hospitalizations, then reopening again , and so on. I could also see states officially reopening, then three weeks later freaking out because all the renewed infections/hospitalizations and then not reopening for several months longer before trying again. Also, states will look to other states and see how it goes and if youre lucky enough to live in a more reasonable risk averse state they will just not "reopen" it if and when those around start falling apart again.Speaker to Animals wrote: Tue Apr 21, 2020 11:09 am My prediction: the republicans and corporate democrats will reopen the economy to save the wealth of their benefactors.
