People don't want to lose their jobs and businesses, so they continue doing them/having them opened. A bus service, that usually travels between Germany and Denmark or between the major cities in Denmark, got shut down for repeatedly filling busses like they usually did pre-COVID. Public transportation is exempt from the more than ten people public gathering rule, but "within reason". Ministry of Transportation didn't feel that "...but we'll lose money if we don't fill up every seat" was reasonable enough, I guess.C-Mag wrote: Tue Apr 21, 2020 10:25 am NYC is still running Mass Transit. Gov. DeSantis: Florida 'has flattened the curve' without 'draconian orders'
https://www.foxnews.com/media/desantis- ... ning-curve
He noted that six weeks ago, many critics were claiming that “Florida was going to be worse than New York.”
“It was constant, people saying that,” he added, acknowledging his state’s large elderly population, who medical experts believe are among the most vulnerable to COVID-19.
“If you look at what’s happened, that's not true,” DeSantis said. “New York, for example, has about 25 times the number of fatalities of Florida.” ...

Re: Reopening America and the Cathedral's Counter-Boogaloo
Just looked at the data. The claim does not match the reality, except for the fact that they obviously are not testing as many positives.
https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/202 ... cases.html
The game they are playing has to do with controlling who gets to be tested. It's easy to manipulate "the curve" when by the curve you mean the daily positive test results, since the state and federal government get to control who is even tested for those stats.
What is a bit harder to cover up is the daily deaths from covid. If you take a gander at the two charts at that page, the "new reported cases" chart does indeed look like they flattened the curve, but if you scroll past that and look at the daily death counts, their death rate continues on an exponential growth curve, which indicates to me the "new reported cases" data is pretty fucking wrong.
And that's on top of the fact that Florida did in fact implement shelter-in-place orders. I am not sure what this particular piece of propaganda is trying to convince us of. I doubt the people who wrote it plan to work in the factories themselves. Kind of bullshit, honestly.
My strong suggestion to all of you is to look at deaths. First look at the daily deaths from covid. Then look at the total death rate for a particular area (which everywhere is on the rise in weird ways). There are some percentage of deaths flying under the radar here, and obviously some chicanery played with the stats. I have not even bothered looking at the data resulting from testing for months, honestly. Nor should you.

About comparing Fl. to NY:
Florida population density: 353 people pr. sq. mile
New York pop. density: 24,403 people pr. sq. mile
I imagine that has some, little say in how easily a virus may spread.

How about a republican governor reopening gyms and bowling alleys or conservatives gathering in crowds of hundreds, without masks, and protesting quarantine measures implemented to stop the worst contagion since the black death?
Never underestimate a republican's lack of imagination for doing stupid shit. Democrats have no monopoly on that.

Aren't we still having inside USA flights full stop? I saw the air travel in France, Germany, Italy etc. was very minimal inside their own countries. I'd figure we should only be flying stuff we have to for supply chains and military ops etc.C-Mag wrote: Tue Apr 21, 2020 10:25 am NYC is still running Mass Transit. Can't think of anything stupider

Can't read the NYT article because I'm not a subscriber.
/shrug
Did you paraphrase it tho? Aka - any numbers contradicting the narrative are clearly government manipulated lies?
That's always a good one.

No. I would argue the protesters we have been seeing are, without question, the most retarded Americans that ever lived excepting actually retarded people -- who thankfully have been smart enough to not violate shelter-in-place orders and get themselves infected like God damned assholes.C-Mag wrote: Tue Apr 21, 2020 11:01 amYes, still running possibly the worst petri dish possible.Speaker to Animals wrote: Tue Apr 21, 2020 10:31 amIs that so?C-Mag wrote: Tue Apr 21, 2020 10:25 am NYC is still running Mass Transit. If people are stupid enough to live on top of each other, I can't help them. Too stupid to live.
Blockade them, and let nature take its course. We've wasted too many resources on them already.

Re: Reopening America and the Cathedral's Counter-Boogaloo
In particular, NY would seem to be flattening the curve since their daily fatalities is stalling between 2k-3k deaths per day. Because FL has daily deaths on an exponential growth curve, they are not flattening a God damned thing.
Compare the charts from the Florida page with New York's..
https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/202 ... cases.html
New York is flattening the curve. Florida certainly is not.
