Harvard Professor calls homeschooling dangerous

Post by SilverEagle » Tue Apr 21, 2020 10:00 am

Sooooo check out this moon bat.

The issue is, do we think that parents should have 24/7, essentially authoritarian control over their children from ages zero to 18?" Bartholet asked. "I think that's dangerous. I think it's always dangerous to put powerful people in charge of the powerless, and to give the powerful ones total authority.
So only the "educated" educators should have the power over the children aka the powerless? This woman needs a dirt nap.

For fuck sake, 1984 is NOT an instruction manual!

Her fault is that she cannot/will not distinguish between expressions of something, and that something itself. She argues that home schooling is bad, because: "abusive, authoritarian parents" make it bad. Well.... then logically, the wrong, what decreases the quality of home schooling, is the authoritarian and abusive bit.

Every child attacked, molested, beaten, or raped in a public school - evidence that public schools are way more fucking dangerous.

/shrug

"But what about abusive parents!?!?"

What about them? They're abusive whether or not the child is also forced to roll the dice with the additional abuse endemic to public schooling.

But what do I know, I never went to Harvard.

Social interaction with their peers is also part of a child's education.
One that is difficult to reproduce in a homeschooling environment.
Lots of out of school activities with other children needs to accompany homeschooling or you can end up with kids unable to mix well with others.
This is what I have noticed with some of the painfully shy kids I know who have never been to school.

Ah, ok.
I was planning on pointing out that your response is identical to every childless leftist response out there. Always with the "BUT SOCIALIZATION" from some of the most misanthropic, weirdo, leftist shut-ins in the world. But hey, it's a talking point, I guess.

But I understand your concern.
Forgot about that shit because I take extended breaks from here.

Marxists are all about The State raising children. What they call “socialization” is really egalitarian indoctrination. Put me in charge of public education indoctrination then ask the Marxists what they think.
