I love them, they love me, brothers in arms

Well not strictly true, I never spoke to him or anything but I was at the same wedding reception as him.
The bride was my last girlfriend. After she kicked her husband out obviously.
That guy makes masterpieces, but I've heard he was Pol Pot on the set. Like, he would do hundreds of takes to get one thing right, but wouldn't tell the actors what it was. Scatman Crothers and Olive Oyl were both broken down mentally by him during the Shining. Crothers apparently burst into tears and said "What do you want Mr. Kubrick? What do you want?"

It was worth it though. The Shining is the best horror film of all time hands fucking down.

Yeah, everyone was told that FMJ was going to take about 2 months and it was nearly a year later by the time it finished.
Sir Richard Attenborough was the biggest arsehole according to my mate though. I think he did the food for Gandhi, but I might have that wrong.
Anyway which ever film it was he used to keep them on set for hours and turn up 4 hrs late for lunch then complain that the food was shit.
Peter (my mate) lost his rag with him in the end, he told him that if he could do his job properly then the food wouldn't have to sit in the bain-marie for 4 hrs turning to mush. Attenborough sacked him on the spot with only a week left to go of filming and the production team had to find a new caterer overnight.
Never meet your heroes.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.
