Actually, yes you can. That is the basis of much of evolutionary biology.SuburbanFarmer wrote: ↑Thu Apr 16, 2020 11:14 amWe are also 95% similar to bananas.Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Thu Apr 16, 2020 11:02 amLOL. We literally came from Africa. That's exactly what happened.SuburbanFarmer wrote: ↑Thu Apr 16, 2020 10:29 amHumans are 99% similar to chimps. Doesn’t mean I came from Africa.
The point here is (I thought obvious) that you can't trace the origin merely by "99% similarity" to another virus sample.

At this point we don't even know that this virus is real.
Think about it. We've seen people coughing, images of people with masks, hospitals with patients etc, but have you actually seen the virus? Like, with your naked eye? No, you haven't.
It has always made me suspicious that viruses are small. So small, in fact, that we can't see them, yet they can kill a 200 pound man. Lol, how does that work. Ever seen a bar fight? The bigger guy usually wins. The idea that a tiny little critter can make a person sick is absurd at best, and a dangerous lie at worst.
Until I see this virus, I'm riding on the assumption that it is not real. In fact, I'm not even sure that viruses being small as they supposedly are could travel from one person to the next like that. It would take them weeks to walk the distance of even a yard because they must have small little legs.
None of this adds up.

This table I'm sitting at is supposed to be made of atoms but I can't see them. I have no proof this table exists at all, or anything else.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

I just go with God
If he is coming to me now, what does that mean ?
He is pulling me towards an event horizon
is that death ?
Not sure
But just in case, I sing my death song now

I was bored one night and couldn't sleep so I started a long chain of wikipedia links that led me to string theory and all this other weird stuff. Tbh it made me realise that I am kind of a dumbshit lol. I am of the opinion that human beings are not evolved or designed or whatever to understand how the universe works. Its beyond our comprehension. I have never read a convinving account of how we evolved to be conscious. Other animals are conscious too, but they don't have religion art etc afaik. How did this come about? It really is like a fairy tale.Montegriffo wrote: ↑Thu Apr 16, 2020 11:49 amI feel the same about atoms.heydaralon wrote: ↑Thu Apr 16, 2020 11:44 amAt this point we don't even know that this virus is real.

I remember one time in college I was shrooming with some friends and this guy I was talking to just went off on this long tangent similar to mine about existence, reality and all that stuff and finally someone else in the group told him to shut up. He was making us all anxious and sad by bringing that stuff up at the moment lol. It was pretty damn funny looking back.
