Is Bret Baier reliable, as Tim claims, or a partisan hack?

I can't vouch directly for Baier, but I expect that he absolutely does have access to sources with accurate information.

@glenn greenwald
I hope the Right learned during Russiagate that self-serving leaks about US adversaries from anonymous IC officials through US media are fundamentally unreliable.

The Left will say this, then immediately go back to anonymous sources as authoritative information sources. Greenwald is a partisan hack.

Copying democrat red-baiting to shift blame for one's incompetency over to foreign powers is pretty low-tier, but if you are going to do it, go with something creative like Belgium or Costa Rica.

I used to be a fan of Greenwald, but he's not consistent in how he operates. One minute, he'll be the empirical evidence guy, the next minute he's parroting talking points.

i mean he's definitely a lefty, big fan of bernie sanders and whatnot but when it comes to the intel agencies he's apparently even more consistent than many on the right

i believe it could have been released from a bio lab in wuhan, sure why not? i also believe it could have been russia that hacked the dnc, sure why not? am i supposed to blindly believe either of these accusations? we'll see what else leaks in the months ahead

That's his windmill, that's for sure. The Intercept was putting out great content in the lead-up to 2016 exposing secret intelligence programs. But he and his publication have had to pivot as everyone stopped caring about government overreach by the Obama administration in favor of Orange Man Bad. I haven't looked at it in so long, I'm not even sure he still works there.

I'm not supporting the claim that it's a leaked bioweapon, but it's not implausible, given China's lack of quality controls.

A viral bioweapon has nearly 100% fatality rate. Otherwise, if you release it on your enemies, it goes pandemic and then kills your own people. Also wouldn't be nearly 99% match to a bat coronavirus collected in 2013 but, rather, heavily engineered.

There is a chance this was definitely a lab leak, however, but the question is from what lab considering that virus was exported to labs around the world.

yup intercept has TDS, his articles during russiagate stood in stark contrast to the rest of the site. his output re: US issues has dropped since bolsonaro took an interest in him, but he's still active on twatter
