Hence the need for government assistance. Our governments were quick enough to bail out the banks and their problems were largely self-inflicted.Hanarchy Montanarchy wrote: ↑Wed Apr 15, 2020 9:25 pm
Only businesses with the underlying condition of needing to actually do business? There are not a lot of small businesses with two whole months of runway.

For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

It wasn't me complaining about weak businesses dying off. However, if they can save the banks from their self inflicted ills then I don't see why they can't assist small businesses now.Smitty-48 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 15, 2020 9:49 pmwanh wanh we need government assistance blah, blah, blahMontegriffo wrote: ↑Wed Apr 15, 2020 9:42 pmHence the need for government assistance. The small business emergency loan funds from the first relief package were predicted to run out today in the states. Talks for a second relief package are ongoing, but congress isn't meeting.Montegriffo wrote: ↑Wed Apr 15, 2020 9:42 pmHence the need for government assistance. I really do hope the government assistance is sufficient to forestall a long period of a depression level economy. I, unlike most of these slobs, actually like government, and think it has a place in the modern world. I do not, however, believe it to be a magic poultice that can solve massively complex economic problems.

...also, if people are put out of work as a direct consequence of government policy then the government is going to have to support them.

Tucker Carlson had a great segment tonight. Speaking to the Governor of New Jersey, Tucker questions him on the Constitutionality of making church gatherings illegal, arresting the lone jogger on the beach, etc.
