If you don't talk about what he's doing wrong, you can't help him improve something that is very obviously negatively effecting his life and his kids life

Some friend you are, we are trying to help the guy through something that is clearly troubling him and you are trying keep his head buried in the sand by blowing sunshine up his ass about not listening to anyone suggesting he should change something, even though it's obvious his situation could easily be improved from where it currently stands

You assume giving him advice to change something is coming from a place of malice

You want it to be one way, but it's the other way

What seems obvious to you is not necessarily true. Especially when you are not in full possession of all the facts.
If someone wants to come here and vent their frustrations about their relationship every now and again I might sympathise but I'm not going to start telling them they are living their life wrong.

Bullshit.
You are using it as an excuse to pile onto him.
He's said that he's not asking for your advice, respect that and stop telling him how to live his life.
Maybe concentrate on your own inability to find a loving relationship.

I am. Doesn't mean I can't try to help Grumpy at the same time, your inability to conceive of the possibility of multi-tasking is truly bizarre

I'm very thankful I married my wife. Six years my junior, the best woman on the planet. Every day I walk this earth I look at her and realize that there was nothing about me that made me deserve her, or the kids we have together. We both were each others firsts, and we've been a cohesive unit ever since. She knows me better than anyone, and furthermore understands me, even when I go on a rant about Dixie, she knows my heart.
I feel you, I'm happy for you, congratulations on winning the life lottery

Mind you, my wife is Canadian, so when I rant about Dixie, she doesn't understand

"Who is the heck is Dixie ?"
