Michael Mann is my favorite director
But I don't say he's the best,
Kubrick is the best,
Mann is just my favorite.
I like Danny Boyle, I don't have a strong enough opinion on directors to say he's my favourite or the best but I don't think I've ever seen him make a bad film.
Shallow Grave is probably in my top ten if it's really possible to have one.
Rounders does pass the ''watch it over and over'' test as does Blues Brothers but not many films are watchable more than once.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Blues Brothers I watched so many times I have it memorized
Loves me some Danny Boyle, 28 Days Later is a masterpeice, in my Pantheon, but not in the Singularity
Rounders I couldn't get into, I'm not a degenerate gambler, not interesting

Fair enough on the Rounders tip, if it wasn't for being a degenerate gambler, it likely wouldn't be in my singularity

I saw that quite recently, it did nothing for me music or not.
The only good thing I could say about it is that it was better than the original TV series.
You won't like me for saying it but I was never much of a Magnum fan either.
You're not Smitty Crockett, nor Smitty Magnum Higgins, who knew ?
He is willing to scrutinize others tastes, but can't take it when his own are scrutinized, who knew?
Monte throwing stones from his glass house and getting mad when anyone throws a stone back, typical
What?
You can scrutinise my taste all you want I couldn't give a fuck,
What I find objectionable is when you proclaim that your taste is better than anyone else's. Taste is just taste, an opinion and not a fact.
I don't like opera but I would never say that someone else is wrong to say it is their favourite genre.
At the end of the day, it is arrogance in the extreme to proclaim that your taste is better than anyone else's.

Back when I first watched Rounders, that was when I first getting big into poker as a teenager, nostalgia plays a huge factor in why I love that movie so much, no doubt

Some tastes are better than others, you're a chef and you like to pretend like this isn't a thing?
Cognitive dissonance is a helluva drug
You are trolling me, but you are also trolling yourself

28 Days Later is one of only two zombie movies that are any good, the other is Shaun of The Dead. Zombies suck in movies and tv, yet somehow those two movies were actually awesome despite the lameness of the zombie apocalypse, which is nothing short of miraculous

In the army, I was like Pesci in Goodfellas,
in order to end the card game, I would just attack somebody in a fist fight
