her ironing skills are simply not up to my drill instructor standards

Now it's that attitude that resulted in you have to do all your own laundry nowadays.
Me, I'd just say ''but you do it so much better, not too much starch in the collar please''.
I do prefer to do my own gym, tan, laundry, I am set in my army ways that way

That’s not the attitude of a gentleman.

The only thing I ever iron is my chef's jackets. I'm slow though, mum could do 5 in the time it took me to do one.
Not that I'd let her do it now, her osteoporosis means she has permanent back pain which is made worse by standing up.
I can't even go round and sneak a load into her washing machine now due to the bug. I've not been to see her for over a month and it could be several months more before it's safe to go round again.
War is hell.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

I'm into variations of leisure wear these days, so not much ironing, just hang to dry

I wear a lot of outdoors gear, Karbon, Arcteryx, Mountain Warehouse, etc, paramilitary chic

I like tracksuits too, Slava Rossiya

All summer long I am just shorts and sandals

I like P Diddying it in my bathrobe as well, Staycation

Unusual not to have had at least two by my age but I'm nothing if not unconventional.
My last GF was proper posh totty but she did the dirty on me when I was in France sorting out my father's funeral.
Knocks your faith in the fairer sex when that sort of thing happens.
Funnily enough, she texted me out of the blue recently and apologised for her behaviour. Dropped several hints about seeing me again but there's no coming back from that.

No, but she's got a devoted partner who is ten years younger and my sister has been doing the shopping for them as she lives much closer.

Never been cheated on so far as I know,

never cheated on a girl neither, although I have dumped one for another

I don't see girls as a monolith tho, just because some girl cheated on you, does not reflect on Dorothy Gale & Co

During the years my libido raged, it was channeled into ambition, and when that diminished, my libido was no longer stronger than my wisdom. (Having a hot wife made it easier.)
