Mrs Smitty commutes, she doesn't mind it, she works in Waterloo not Toronto, so the commutes not bad

This is why we Prep

We moved out of the GTA into God's country, so we can drive everywhere and there is always parking
I've never had to suffer a daily commute through standstill traffic either but I can still imagine how awful it would be.
I've never lived in the subburbs

Either right downtown in the 6ix itself, or all the way out in the country

So out in Renfrew or Wellington County, I am a Redneck, pick-up truck & hot rod

But down in the 6ix, I was Corso Italia

I lived in Norwich for 20 odd years but most of that time I was living in a truck in a country park a couple of miles from the city centre so walked or cycled into work.
Norwich has a population of only about 200k (100k when I first knew it) though so more of a big town really.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Our neighbor with all the kids is working with covid patients now. They asked my son to stay away today. He’s taking it like a champ so far.

He’s going to be a sad panda tomorrow probably.

The missus says she is really get used to sleeping in, working out and puttering around the house

Says she loves having everything right to hand in the freezer or pantry without having to shop

Do you have a home gym? Do you still work out at all?

We both got our own,

upstairs the two guest rooms are converted to her office and gym, the nordictrak is up there

Down here I just have weights and a rowing machine, which I do use

I put my lifting music on to get jacked up

How many acres do you own. I know you take pride in your lawn, but do you have untamed wilderness on your property behind your house? Woods to explore and pioneer in?

Not acres, my yard is 12,500 sq ft

We are on an little escarpment overlooking a small valley, which starts at my back fence, conservation area

So my yard is split level, top of it is like a backyard, gardens & lawn

the lower yard is like a tiny park, trees & grass, maples, fir, birch, my trees are my prize possessions

The woods beyond are like a nature park,

not groomed, but there are ski paths throughout, I ski as my winter sport

there is a river in the woods, not big, but enough to swim & fish & canoe in, plus beaches

that beyond my fence is owned by the municipality, so it's a public park technically

on the other side is a farm, rolling farmers field is my view there, to the horizon, little farm house on the ridgeline

So fucking romantic, paid $300K USD

My back fence is just a fence, with a gate, straight into the park

But on the sides coming up the hill I have my Trump Walls

9" imitation board on batten wooden walls

Keeps it dark at night, for stargazing

So it's like a compound

Out front is the driveway and I have another couple trees in front and it is landscaped

then the house, split level bungaloo, middle class and modest

then I have this huge yard in the back

the Trump Walls give it the compound feelz
