Your expectations of how wars work seem unrealistic to me

The government didn't fight World War Two very well neither, that's why it took so long

Vietnam also did not go so well, what were you expecting ? Ron Paultopia ?
I am not stating my expectations, I am stating the optimal strategy to fight the war, I never said most governments are smart enough to listen
I'm not interested in shoulda woulda coulda perfect world scenarios,

I fight the war that is, not the war that Capps wants it to be /shrugs
South Korea is fighting the war that is too, and far more effectively than most governments, and the most effective strategies they used are far from impossible to implement in the very near future, if it isn't already the case

Strawman Capps might be expecting Ron Paultopia, but Capps is not

South Korea is fighting the war that is too, and far more effectively than most governments, that is the point, no need to attack something that you should obviously agree with

Capps repeating should woulda coulda done it like South Korea is just Boring Man Repeating Himself Capps /shrugs

They can still do it like South Korea, the window has not passed

After the peak they can totally pivot, and if they did, they'd get better results, and if they don't, the results will be not as good

I get it, you love the war and don't want it to end, and are lashing out at those who suggest its possible to for governments to fight it more effectively and less counterproductively than they are, because fighting it more effectively might end your second honeymoon

But that doesn't change the facts

Like I am operational in warfighting mode

But I'm not running the government

I pay no attention to the big picture, I have my own op to run

What the government does or does not do ?

Warfighter ; not my control, not my concern

I am paying attention to the big picture, and I can run my own op while doing so, taking it day-by-day, week-by-week

You might not want to walk and chew gum at the same time, but I do

Perhaps you are happier not thinking about the big picture at all, but I am happier thinking about the big picture every now and then while still living in the present
