Trump is just trying to calm the markets.
Not in the way you are suggesting

You take a kernel of truth, and the you blow it way out of proportion with any semblance of reality, because Orange Man Bad
Only because he's a self-serving moron.
That's what makes Orange Man Bad.
All politicians are self-serving, the Orange Man is no different in that regard

You are so against Trump you think everything he does is moronic, even when it clearly isnt, so the moron part isn't relevant either

If that's all you got, you have no good reason to hate Trump, just a bunch of really stupid reasons

For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Warfighting is in essence a cycle of battle procedure

Receive warning order

Quick combat estimate

Pass warning order

Receive amended warning order

Detailed combat estimate

Pass detailed warning order

Hurry Up And Wait

On The Bus Off The Bus

Embrace The Suck
I'm thinking of this in terms of an extraterrestrial invasion, because it has more parallels with that scenario in my head than typical war does.

If an alien armada parked itself in orbit and began landing ground forces, would our response be, "Well, we don't even know if bullets will work! Better to just not engage." Somehow, I doubt it. That's the frustrating bit about this scenario. There have been plenty of opportunities to try and tackle this bug with something, but if it comes out of the POTUS' mouth, the fifth columnists appear to screech about it.

Not an overseas military adventure

A real war

It's a real estate game

Defense of hearths & homes real deal warfighting in the fog of war in real time

Extraterrestrial Invasion by dictionary definition, same as it ever was

Also, do you have any theories on why the models predicting hundreds of thousands of deaths have been revised?
Well, worldwide deaths are likely to pass 100,000 today and most countries haven't peaked yet.
My guess was 200k worldwide which is about 60 world trade centres.
Any revisions are also just guesses at this point.
So you're saying they've just been guessing this whole time?
That's what models are ...sophisticated guesses more or less. I think many models were gloomier bc they wanted to scare the public and bc yes people need to take it serious . Not truthful but it's a motivation thats plausible and not nessasarily nefarious.
The real messy thing here is that there is no idea when or if a vaccine or an effective treatment will be. Plus without that it's just going to keep spreading and being a reoccurring issue. There is no real quarantine going on.

So let's say the sophisticated guesses are constantly wrong. Why do we have them and why are we creating policy based on them?

Not true at all, I even criticize Trump myself, I just pick battles infinitely better than you do

You just assume that the material you think is the best, is the only material, and therefore I call all criticism TDS, nope just most of your criticisms are TDS

I know you want to believe that you got A+ material, but you actually have F material, because you crib notes off media outlets who also have F material, and that's all you got

Those who dislike the Trump the least on this forum have the best criticisms of Trump, and that is not a coincidence, they simply aren't blinded by hatred so they have no need to grasp at straws and they pick their battles better
