I continue to propagate the narrative that it is a Chinese biological weapons attack, on themselves

Their own bomb simply blew up in their faces, the rest is just collateral damage

That's why these type of bugs are kept in jail at BSL3

If any of them escape it becomes a geostrategically destabilizing WMD mass casualty event

I'm convinced it escaped from the lab that is a block or so away from the market. Not a man-made virus, but one that was being worked on in that lab as a potential future weapon. It got out by accident, because china is very bad a quality control in general.

There needs to be a reckoning for China from the rest of world once this has passed. Start making things elsewhere and leave them with thousands of empty factories.

BSL3 is not as deadly, but that actually makes it better for certain scenarios

The more lethal, the quicker it kills, so the less it spreads

Ebola for example is not a global threat because it's only tactically dangerous, strategically it doesn't get very far

This less lethal agent is more effective as a strategic weapon, because it is going global

Also a super lethal weapon is too dangerous to those launching the attack

For all we know this weapon was intended for use against the Chinese people if they revolted against Beijing

I mean maybe it was a rogue faction trying to take down Xi, but it could also just be Chicom Biolab Chernobyl. I think the later is more likely.

That is if it is sabotage

The other possibility is that the Communist Party is more afraid of revolt than we think, because of Hong Kong

So this is a deliberate attack to allow them to take total control back

Accident is also very plausible, because the Chinese didn't build the lab, the French did, and it's brand new,

Maybe no so familiar with this level of operations alongside the likes of America, Britain, France and Russia

Early on, when you are just getting started at a lab which you did not build, is where you are going to screw up

I'm going with accident due to incompetence. Chicom Biolab Chernobyl.

The others are also possibilities, but they seem less likely.

...or it's just bats coughing on people down in the disgusting live animal markets.
Conspiracy theories are fun though.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

I get all that. I’m sure there are things that could end the world in weeks if they got out of the labs. Probably super small pox sitting there ready to be used in case a Cold War gets hot just to make sure the other side can’t win.
What I was getting at was how transferable it is and how someone can infect a bunch of people before they even know they are sick, and so on. The difference between the book and this is the lethality. Get an airborn Ebola like this and chances are most of us are already dead

Could be. But less likely than Chicom Biolab Chernobyl. Either way, it's the Chicoms fault, it's just a matter of which Chicoms and for what reasons.

This is a very common dynamic with military exports

The French can sell you their state of the art technology,

but it will take you some time to acquire the expertise to use it like they do
