I checked our population density here, nice and low, just outside the GTA, drops way off
This is why Mrs Smitty is trying to get her sister to leave the condo in Toronto
Those buildings are just like cruise ships
My Millennial niece is trapped in the condo with her batshit mom
My Inlaws are the only thing bothering Mrs Smitty here in the Space Pod
I told her it's like being on a nuclear submarine, you can't do anything about what is going on in the outside world

I didn't hear shots fired, I heard a news report about shots being fired at a completely different location while it was all calm where I am at, and the shooting I'm hearing about aren't the sky is falling scenario the media painted it as either. Take your apples and oranges analogies that try and make Strawman Capps look stupid, and shove them up your ass.Montegriffo wrote: Sat Mar 28, 2020 2:49 am If you heard shots fired you wouldn't wait to find out who was being shot at before you jumped into your foxhole.

What? They more than doubled their total deaths during entire pandemic in a single night? Sounds off, that ain't a 31% increase, that's more than a 100% increase, and I'm not seeing these reports you speak of. The current UK death totals I'm seeing are less than 800, let alone 800 in one night.Smitty-48 wrote: Sat Mar 28, 2020 3:16 am Mother of Mayhem, 800 people died in Britain overnight ?! 31% increase in one day ?!

We're expecting to hit big numbers in about 2 weeks. We're still under 100 a day AFAIK.
Death, death, to the IDF.

Well at least the big numbers you're projected to hit in a few weeks have been revised downward quite heavily in the last week or two, so that's a bonus. Even the most alarmist estimate, that media covered ad nauseum, have recently backpedaled pretty hard. Lets hope the new estimates are closer to the mark than the old ones.Montegriffo wrote: Sat Mar 28, 2020 4:41 amI haven't heard that eitherStCapps wrote: Sat Mar 28, 2020 4:09 amWhat? One of the stupider comments I've read online lately...
"We made it through the 1918 Spanish flu, we'll make it through this."
Umm, well, actually 50-100 million people *didn't* make it through the Spanish flu.
If that "we" is humanity, as a species, I agree 100%, the human species will survive.
You and I, well, that's an entirely different set of odds.

"People don't like to be meddled with. We tell them what to do, what to think, don't run, don't walk. We're in their homes and in their heads and we haven't the right. We're meddlesome."

Now that Trump and 99+ % of Congress have secured the Infinity Bag, we can at least expect the media hysteria to level off soon. The fear lever has done its job, time to get the grunts back on the job site and mixing cocktails for the gentry.

Well, the person who said it is technically right. Those who lived during that time and didn't die, did survive the flu.Ph64 wrote: Sat Mar 28, 2020 5:04 am One of the stupider comments I've read online lately...

The problem is we have watered down that population so much that people get sick almost instantly today.
If you actually think about this, this is natural selection being denied.

The 800 deaths in day figure is, according to the news here, the numbers for Spain, not the UK.
Fame is not flattery. Respect is not agreement.
