Re: SARS Pt. 2 - Wuhan Boogaloo
Imagine I'm a totalitarian regime running on fumes, and I really DGAF.
I release a bioweapon into my own population, immediately declare a full lockdown and hide all the deaths. A few weeks later, it's spread to the rest of the world, and I just have to fight off incoming infections from travelers.
No overt aggressive action will ever be proven, because I killed the guy that did it. Just took a lipstick sprayer and a walk through the market.

Feeling snug as a bug inside Little Rossiya here
The Russians don't mess about when it comes to catastrophe
They are completely sealed up in their compounds as well, so I have no threat on my flanks
They've got a new puppy and they are training him in the Russosportzplex
It's warm enough for us to sit on the deck and watch from here

Many SIFCLFs will still think the sky is falling even if there is ample evidence the sky won't fall, who knew? Worst case anecdotal evidence and only the worst case scenario death toll predictions getting media attention, combined with any attempt to paint the disease in a less SIFCLF way is dismissed as denial, that will be enough fumes for them to coast on for a while, at least.

I spoke to my mother out in British Columbia
She's no more doom & gloom about this than her normal levels of doom & gloom
She says she finds the dystopic future to be fascinating
She says she watched Soylent Green like I told her to, and enjoyed it despite the camp, Edward G. Robinson
She says she knew I would love the war when it came
"Hasta siempre, commandante"

Good to hear she's still her usual self.

Cappsie doesn't surf even when there isn't a hysterical panic going on, I don't have to change a thing, Reclusive Nighthawk FTW. If the world was relying on me to get the economy going again, they are going to be waiting a long time, but not because I think the sky is falling.
Don't worry, be happy.
