but as Smitty said it’s not WW3
No, but it is full mobilization for war and everybody has essentially been conscripted at this point.
Nah, this is 1914. They are still asking for volunteers. When 60 K are mown down on the Somme things will get real. We are weeks from that yet- tho maybe not many weeks

No, because the laws in place right now are as strict if not stricter than martial law

they just haven't ramped up the crackdown yet, but if they don't get compliance, charges will start to get laid

Anybody thinking they really have any options is deluding themselves, they will throw people in jail eventually

That's the entire population of the country mobilized under command & control of the state for war

Cant quote Canada on WW1 but we suspended the constitution in weeks but most of the heavy stuff came after the casualty figures came in.

But I agree - we are millimeters from martial law. All you and I are doing is spitballing how many

Again, the civilian laws they have enacted are just as if not more draconian than the War Measures Act

This is the War Measures Act plus more right now

The provinces are fully mobilized, the federal government doesn't need to for me to be under de facto martial law

It wouldn't make any difference if they enacted the EMA on me federally, Ontario has already done it anyways

As of right now, the government has enacted the authority to

Search without warrant

Restrict movement

Seize private property

Conscript labor

Detain for the duration of the emergency

That's martial law for all intents and purposes and the biggest mobilization since WWII by definition

They don't need the army in Canada, the RCMP has way more authority than the army

The only thing they would use the army for is guard duty

Canada is a nanny police state at the best of times, right now that is fully militarized in a legislative sense

Martial law is an old 19th century law, that's not the most draconian anymore

They have the Counter Terrorism Act at their disposal at all times

Anybody screwing around in a way that is deemed to be tantamount to sabotage ?

They could be disappeared into an extra judicial black hole for the duration of the war

Nurmagomedov-Ferguson still on, in Moscow, behind closed doors. MMA is the only sane major sporting organization left, gotta love it. With no sports on to compete with, those PPV numbers are gonna be fucking sweet.

Dana White isn't panicking, be like Dana.
