I was thinking about going to get some blow but I'm not sure plod would consider that an essential journey.

I'm good for nicotine for now it was herbal additives I was thinking of.
This shutdown is going to hit the illegal drug trade hard.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Some of the things done seem backwards to me.

I started going out to the grocery around 10-11pm (they close midnight-6am, except Sunday they open 8am and close at 9pm). Very "low traffic" time to hit the store, avoiding crowds... So what do they do? They announce they're opening 6am-7:30am for "60+ at-risk elderly", ok, and they're closing at 8pm "to allow stocking of shelves", so being 55 I can't go early and I can't go late to avoid crowds.

Great move.

Then I'm hearing about "8pm curfew" - umm, bars are closed, everything "non-essential", and now even the grocery is closed - the only thing open is the gas station with it's little convenience store... So now if I run out at 10pm to put a few gallons of gas in I'll be stopped and fined?

FFS, I try to "social distance" by doing things at off hours, why is their solution to try and force me to have to do things during prime hours? Seems backwards.
"People don't like to be meddled with. We tell them what to do, what to think, don't run, don't walk. We're in their homes and in their heads and we haven't the right. We're meddlesome."

That sounds quite chaotic, I am prepped for that level of chaos, but not expecting it, and that's not the case here yet

My wife says that Walmart is doing the best job of all the stores,

in terms of having stock, being organized, and enforcing the rules

She says Costco is bad because everybody goes to Costco and its chaotic

My wife is not a biologist like the Russians, but she is a biology major who works in med tech

So she's treating this like it is a Bio Safety Level 3 Pathogen (BSL3)

Which is technically what it is

So she's not like panicking panicking, but she's definitely spooked by it

The Russians are taking it seriously tho, they are hunkered down

My Russian neighbors I mean, not the Russian Federation
