When there's a pandemic, the closet SIFCLF's come out of hiding, even if they are doing it indoors. The more SIFCLFs that are in a panic, the greater chances of misapprehension, miscalculation, or mistake, no doubt.
Simply my strategic military analysis

We're always under the Sword of Damocles, the Silent War never ends

America, Britain & France are in full mobilization mode, the Russians & Chinese can't simply ignore it
I wasn't referring to you personally, just riffing off you to poke fun at the SIFCLFs.
It would probably come by lateral escalation

It's not America & Russia who would start it, it would be India & Pakistan

Like your analysis is based on reality of the geopolitical situation in light of the reaction to Coronavirus, the SIFCLFs analysis of Coronavirus is based on a panic induced delusion that the sky will fall unless the nanny state saves them by destroying the economy. There is rather distinct difference between the two and the level of insight is of course light years apart.

This is the highest alert since the Cuban Missile Crisis, no doubt

All over the world the military forces are ramping up for war

I bet Cheyenne Mountain is at DEFCON 3 right now, same as on 9-11
Have you heard any more about Russia's call for a meeting of the security council?
I don't think I've heard it mentioned on the news sources I've been following.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Thing about India & Pakistan is that are not as far into the future as we are

They don't operate in Post Cold War mode

For them, the Cold War is at its peak, they are back in 1965 in terms of doctrine

Hasn't gone anywhere, Russia invoked it, Britain seconded it, the UN approved it, everybody else has ignored it

But again, this is not Cold War One, this is Cold War Two

This is not a bi-polar confrontation anymore

The Perm 5 only has control of the Perm 5, but there are 9 nuclear powers now

US and others pushed for a teleconference, Russia vetoed and called for in-person at the UN. That’s all I know about it.

Not sure how it makes sense to start a war right now. What would be the point?

It's not the Perm 5 who are the most dangerous in a collapse scenario

they won't be the first ones backs against a wall

India, Pakistan, Israel, North Korea.

Those are the wildcards

Nobody is going to set out to start a thermonuclear war

But if it spirals down, hegemons like India, Pakistan, North Korea, even Israel, could be backs against the wall.

These are not stable fault lines as in Cold War One

Once hegemons are backs against the wall, they start to ramp their bulwarks up

The tensions rise and it starts to feed on itself

Next thing you know they are in an escalatory loop, measure begets countermeasure, tit for tat

Once you are into brinkmanship, the fog of war ensues

In the fog of war, there can be launch on false warning, and then we are away to the races
