They're under contracts - it's one thing when one player breaks a leg or something and you're paying his contract (including health insurance) for a few weeks. The rest of the players are still making you income from their games.

It's another thing entirely when 1/2 your team is in the hospital isolation, on ventilators and/or dead, and the rest maybe are incubating it. They're costing you a fortune for no return on investment.
