Yeah that book is awesome dude. If you are interested in the 100 Years War, check out Desmond Seward's book on it. It is written for the layman and it covers the entire conflict in one volume. Its short too. Less than 250 pages. You could probably read it in 2 or 3 sittings.

100 Years War is the best part of the Middle Ages. That and the Crusades.

I’m mostly fascinated by the society, and how alien it sounds. Few of us could even comprehend walking by some guy you grew up with, chained upright, or broken on the wheel.

Their behavior is no doubt the same as ours would be, but it’s so hard to grasp.

The warfare makes a lot more sense when you realize that it was just large warlords fighting over turf. There was no coherent national government, just family squabbles.

If you don't have the gravedigger matchbox monster truck then please do not post on this forum. Gravedigger is the holy grail of matchbox. Gravedigger leapt over 11 schoolbuses in 2011 alone.

Mark Felton's great recent addition to his series of video shorts about various aspects of WW2 history. This is an audiobook and covers the whole book in a series of 15 videos, covering the story about Britain's attempt to knock out the canals that the Germans were using for their build-up for Operation Sea Lion.

I've just recently discovered Mark Felton. He's done some good shorts on the Falklands Crisis.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.
