I would say that Sheldon Keefe has absolutely no effect on this team whatsoever

He doesn't have bad effects, he doesn't have good effects, he has no effects

Nobody puts Baby Huey in a corner, he wasn't worried about Babcock, he's totally indifferent to the AHL coach

The inmates run the asylum, they are so overpaid and pampered, they don't have to listen to anybody

This is why, much as I was sick of Babcock, I was never sold on Keefe

If Mike Babcock has no juice with them, who the fuck is Keefe?
When I woke up this morning and saw this score I immediately envisioned a game looking just like the one you commented.
One of their problems is that the style that they play is exhausting, they're so inefficient, it tires them out

They can only go so long before they have another collapse, just because they can't get their legs going

They don't have the ability to conserve energy like a veteran team, because they don't play with structure

If you look at the Penguins, they are decimated with injuries, but they know how to gear down

The Loafs only have one gear, and it incites a boom and bust cycle

They are a cavalry team. Dashing and elegant, fun to watch on the offensive, but when they come up against a phalanx or faster cavalry it can get embarrassing real quick.

Yeah, all they can do is attack, attack, attack, they are the classic one dimensional team.

The Toronto media likes to say they are like the 1980's Edmonton Oilers

But that's not the case, the Gretzky Oilers could play heavy when they needed to

The Battle of Alberta in those days was an all out war.

These Loafs are like the Loafs from the 1980's

Matthews is Wendel Clark, Marner is Gary Leeman, Nylander is Russ Courtnall, Tavares is Rick Vaive

Same same, the 80s Loafs could score, Vaive scored 50+ twice, Leeman scored 50, Clark scored 46 in 64 games

But they had absolutely no clue how to defend, which is why that team went nowhere.

I'm in work jail tomorrow so I'm going to give this game a miss too.

A midnight start is not so bad but 3.30 am is just too late.
Especially now that I am forgoing caffeine.
