Those who don't understand that probability requires factoring for all possible variants and not just the use of worst-case scenarios to support their doomsday predictions need to retake statistics and stay away from poker tables.
All sorts of measures being taken to reduce the effects of this virus plus the raw data currently available need to be taken into account.
Simply putting if in front of guesswork percentages of worst-case scenarios multiplied by the total world population does not make you anything other than a doomsayer when you come to conclusions about millions of deaths.
Each country will have different figures when this virus fizzles out as was the case with SARS and MERS. This will be related to the measures they put in place to reduce the spread and the ability they have to treat cases of the illness.

For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

I do have a box of surgical gloves here in my TC3 kit
If I was moving through airports or what have you, I'd keep those handy
The vector of contamination is by the hands to the face : in the hot zone ; wear gloves, don't touch your face.
Wearing gloves also reminds you not to touch your face, which requires some discipline, since you do it more than you notice.

By Wednesday the gasses of the rotting corpses will make the city toxic. By Thursday the Astartes will declare Exterminatus on the city...

Unless you have the stone-cold nuts there is always going to be a hand that could beat yours. You have to take into account betting patterns, table position, the style of the other players at the table and factors you can't even predict before you can even begin to work out probabilities. If you always assume the worst-case scenario it doesn't matter how good you are at maths you are not going to be any good at poker.StCapps wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2020 2:03 pmSIFCLF's gonna SIFCLF, who knew?Montegriffo wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2020 2:01 pmThose who don't understand that probability requires factoring for all possible variants and not just the use of worst-case scenarios to support their doomsday predictions need to retake statistics and stay away from poker tables.

Constantly telling the other players that you are the best and they shouldn't even be playing won't help you either.

Me too, but I'm also a recluse, so it only becomes a problem if/when I am in a hot zone, like an airport for exampleTheReal_ND wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2020 2:17 pmRip me. I'm a constant face toucher and a smoker. It was nice hanging out with you guys. I hear the horn a blowing
