Players of the team who has the puck can't enter the offensive zone before the puck does, and if the puck leaves the offensive zone every player of the team who has the puck who is still in the offensive zone has to leave the zone before it can be taken back in again.
OK, thanks. It makes more sense now.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

That's called a "delayed offside", as the refs just let them play on, so long as the offside players are leaving the zone to get back onside.

If the offside is off the rush, player crosses the line before the puck on the zone entry, that's when they blow it dead on the spot

Decent period by the Loafs, they only gave up four shots in that period.

Puck management : they played the period in Florida's zone, giving their own defense a break

That's what Corsi For % is all about

The name of the game is generating shots on their net while limiting shots on your net

See, Rosen has been at least serviceable in this game

Nothing spectacular, but he's been steady, more so than Sandin or Liljegren that is

Rosen and Marincin have been their "shutdown" pair, not really shutdown, but not getting caved in at least

Just a side note on Kapanen playing the tough guy of late:

Bear in mind it's easier to do that when you have Kyle Clifford on your team, Kapanen has backup

Clifford is at least fulfilling his role, be an NHL player who can take a regular shift, who is a legit hard man to be their bodyguard therein.

Notice who was on the line with them crashing the crease in front : Kyle Clifford

Clifford actually kept the possession alive, Nylander bangs in the rebound off Clifford's shot

A scoring pair, with a grinder

Marincin - Barrie getting caved in, but they redeem themselves by blocking shots, two blocks by Marincin

You have to play desperate and throw yourself in front of everything.

Loafs playing heavy shifts, keeping it in Florida's zone

Keefe sends Clifford-Kerfoot-Nylander out as a line again
